City School District of Albany students in grades 9-12 are invited to come dance the night away at our 2026 Homecoming Dance!

The dance will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. in the Albany High gymnasium.

Tickets are $5 and will be available for purchase at the Albany High Box Office during lunch periods from Sept. 23 until Oct. 1.

Please bring your student ID to the dance. Once you leave the dance, there is no re-entry.

Food and drink will be available for purchase.

If you need attire for the dance, please stop by our Falcon Market. All items are free for Albany High students!

Each season, coaches and fellow teammates embrace the opportunity to honor the diligence, leadership and dedication of our senior athletes!

At our senior celebrations, each senior will be announced and will be accompanied by loved ones if they so choose.

During the ceremony, our seniors will be gifted a beautiful photo banner, compliments of the Albany Booster Club and their supporters!

Here's the line up of events:

Join us for a one-of-a-kind dance competitionto showcase your moves and compete for a cash prize!

Participation is free and open to all Albany High students that will be in grades 9-12 for the 2026-27 school year.

Dress rehearsals will take place Oct. 28 and 29. The competition will take place Oct. 30.

Looking for a way to make a positive impact in our school community? Get involved with the Albany Booster Club!

The Albany Booster Club is a not-for-profit organization that provides funding to support athletic and extracurricular programs districtwide, with a specific focus on Albany High School.

Their first meeting of the school year will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. in Room 3220 at Albany High.

Meetings are open to the public and we encourage students, staff, family members and community members to get involved in this fantastic organization.

Albany High students now have lifesaving knowledge after participating in a CPR training facilitated by Albany Medical Center's Center for Learning and Development!

On Tuesday, 27 students who are working to complete their Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification through our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Health Science pathway took part in an onsite CPR training.

Senior Akira Snype took part in the training, and came away from the experience with an increased level of confidence.

"It feels good," she stated. "Because now if anything ever happens, I can say 'Here I am'!"

Learning CPR during Tuesday's workshop was just one of many empowering components in our students' Health Science education here at Albany High.

During the training, students learned how to perform CPR on both adults and children, receiving hands-on instruction from Albany Medical Center employees who serve as nurse educators, nurse clinicians, education specialists and bedside nurses. Not only was the training and certification process practical, it came free of cost to our students and is an excellent addition to their resumes and college applications.

After completing and passing the exam at the end of the course on Tuesday, students received a Basic Life Support certification card that will be valid for two years.

Thank you to our guest educators for investing in our students, as well as our Albany High Health Science teachers, Markia Danzy, Molly Horne, Cynthia Blake and Erica Cancer.

Come hungry to our home football game on Friday night! The Albany Booster Club will be serving up some delicious specials - check it out!

The Albany Booster Club has your dinner plans covered this Friday night with their Friday Night Lights "Fish Fry" at The Nest!

Come cheer on our Albany High football team as they face off against CBA and purchase some delicious food at the concessions stand to enjoy during the game.

✨ Fish Fry Special for $15 - Crispy battered fish, french fries and a drink

✨ Chicken Tenders Special for $13 - Crispy chicken tenders, french fries and a drink

✨ French Fries Special for $6 - french fries and a drink

✨ French Fries Special with Cheese for $7 - french fries and a drink

Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. and the specials will be available from 6-7:30 p.m., or until they sell out.

All proceeds go directly to the booster club to fund programs that support our students.

On Friday, students at Albany High enjoyed a high-energy anti-bullying program featuring talented BMX riders! 🚲

The No Hate High School Tour is a free program that has been running for 26 years that combines the thrill of action sports with impactful messages about combatting bullying, overcoming obstacles, being an ally, including others, practicing kindness and surrounding yourself with positive influences.

Students had a blast watching a variety of BMX stunts, including one where the rider flew over Principal Jodi Commerford!

Afterward, students enjoyed getting autographs from the BMX riders featured in the program.

Our school community is thankful for the opportunity to reinforce the importance of treating others with respect and dignity through such a fun and engaging presentation!
