"The Fisherman", for piano, by Joseph Fennimore 07/23/2026

Now the butterflies, powdered with sulfur, lay their velvet heads within the hearts of flowers. In his still boat the fisherman pulls up his dripping net, rippling the water. He thinks of the woman at home, like a dark swallow in the nest, waiting for her mate to return."
