For Elizabeth Bouchard ’76, Maria College was more than a college. It was the beginning of a lifelong journey in learning, service, and community.

Q. Why did you choose Maria College?
A. As a Catholic, I was drawn to Maria’s sense of community. The Liberal Arts program was the right fit, and the guidance from my professors was invaluable.

Q. How did Maria shape your career and life?
A. The education and support I received made it possible for me to graduate from Siena College with a BA in English and the University at Albany with an MLS. I worked at several local public libraries and was a part-time librarian at Maria for ten years. My time at Maria taught me empathy, understanding, and how to interact with others effectively.

Q. What do you remember most fondly?
A. I’m grateful for the wonderful instructors, especially the Sisters of Mercy, and for mentors like Sister Rose Hobbs. My experience at Maria positively impacted my life and I treasure the relationships and guidance I received.

A well-earned break for an incredible team!

Faculty and staff from Maria College came together on May 19 to celebrate the end of another successful semester with good food, lawn games, and great company on Fitzgerald Court and the Great Lawn.

From lunch provided by Times Square Catering Food Truck to sweet treats from Mr. Ding-a-Ling, it was a perfect afternoon of appreciation, connection, and fun.

Thank you for everything you do every day to support our students and mission!
