HCP's President & CEO, Hon. Kevin Thomas with 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East on the coming caregiver crisis if TPS ends. "What is being taken away is not a document. We are talking about all those workers across this state who hold licenses, pay taxes, pass background checks, and do the hardest, most intimate work in health care. These are not people who took something from this country. These are people who have been holding this country's most vulnerable citizens in their arms."

"To our Members of Congress: this is not a partisan matter. Aging is not partisan. Disability is not partisan. The math is not partisan. We are asking Congress to act — to extend protections, to create a stable pathway for the essential care workforce, and to recognize that the health of New Yorkers is inseparable from the status of the people who care for them.

HCP's annual Home Care Forum is March 17th in Albany! Registration is open for HCP’s 2026 Home Care Forum — and we’re kicking off with a session every provider should have on their radar.

Overview of OMIG’s Audit and Protocols Processes

We’re pleased to welcome Mike D’Allaird, Deputy Medicaid Inspector General for OMIG’s Division of Medicaid Audits, who will walk providers through:
• How OMIG audit protocols are developed and applied — including those specific to LHCSAs
• Key protocols impacting NHTD and TBI waiver programs
• What to expect during the audit process — from entrance conference through final determination and due process
• Compliance program trends and industry review data that can inform your internal strategy

He’ll be joined by Bill Schwarz, OMIG’s Director of Public Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, to help agencies better prepare for, participate in, and learn from the audit experience.
