Steel & Steam Community Event

Rick Franklin Corporation (RFC) and the Albany & Eastern Railroad (AERC) are hosting Steel & Steam, a free family community event in Lebanon. Formerly known as Dozer Days, the event features heavy machinery, interactive building activities, and locomotive displays.

Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026
Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Location: Rick Franklin Corporation, 101 Industrial Way, Lebanon, OR 97355
Admission: Free entry

Heavy Equipment: Display of excavators, loaders, articulated dump trucks, and a full truck show, with opportunities for children to climb into the vehicle cabs.
Railroad Exhibits: Live train power presented by the Albany & Eastern Railroad.
Interactive Features: Hands-on building challenges for kids.
Food: On-site local food trucks.

Young Roots Oregon is offering a free program called the Family Haven Shelter Program to help young parents find a safe place to stay in the Albany area.

Who Can Get Help?

💛 You are 18 to 24 years old and are pregnant or have children.
💛 You have been homeless for at least 24 hours in Linn County (living on the street, in a car, or in a shelter).
💛OR you are escaping domestic violence from anywhere and can get to Linn County on your own (the program cannot pay for travel).

How It Works

✔️ Apply: Fill out the online form or contact the coordinator.
✔️ Talk: Program Coordinator Brittany Littrell will contact you within 1 business day for a short phone call.
✔️ Stay: If you qualify and agree to the rules, you will get a free hotel stay in the Albany area right away.
✔️ Get Support: Team members will work with you to help your family find long-term, safe housing.
