Join us in welcoming our New EOP Director, Melissa Cedeño!
Ms. Cedeño graduated from UAlbany in 1994 with a BA in English and followed that up with an MA in English education from Teachers College at Columbia University in 1996. She completed the Simmons School of Management’s Strategic Leadership for Women Program and received the Redefined Principal Program Certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She succeeds Maritza Martinez, who has been with EOP for nearly four decades, the last 13 as director.

The University at Albany’s Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) was honored as a finalist in Excelencia in Education’s 2020 Examples of Excelencia. The program was recognized for strategies that advance equity for Latinx students, and was one of 20 programs nationwide named as finalists.
