Discovering more about history!
An anthropology professor from SUNY Oswego co-led an international research team and found evidence of long-distance migration along Peru's Pacific coast. They found that communities intermarried while keeping their cultures centuries before the rise of the Inca Empire.
Oswego faculty member’s groundbreaking research unearths details about migration and marriage in ancient Peru SUNY Oswego anthropology professor Jordan Dalton co-led an international research team that found evidence for long-distance migration along Peru’s Pacific coast that began at least 800 years ago, centuries before the rise of the Inca Empire and much earlier than previously thought.

Helping out our high schoolers!
Through a partnership with high schools in central New York and Onondaga Community College, students are able to graduate high school and earn their associate's degree at the same time. This opportunity saves them money and time and puts them ahead.
High school's partnership with community college puts students ahead Ten percent of Syracuse Academy of Science students graduate with high school and associate's degrees.

Being sustainable!
At SUNY Cortland, items from their move out are not gone to waste. Through the Red Dragon Reuse program, over 4,000 pounds of dorm supplies and clothes have been collected this year alone and resold at Cortland ReUse.
Red Dragon Reuse helps rehome dorm supplies and clothes after SUNY Cortland move out - 607 News Now A collaboration between SUNY Cortland and the Cortland Reuse, Red Dragon Reuse has helped find new homes for over 4,000 pounds of dorm supplies and clothes.

Chancellor King visited Corning Community College to promote the SUNY Reconnect program which provides free college tuition for adult learners and to highlight the college’s mechatronics program.

Connecting our communities!
SUNY Broome Community College will sign an articulation agreement with Cornell University’s School of Continuing Education (Cornell SCE) this summer. This agreement will establish a transfer pathway for SUNY Broome students to go to Cornell's online Bachelor of Professional Studies (BPS) degree program.

Uplifting our students!
During the 2026 State of the University address, Chancellor King highlighted several new initiatives about improving student success, workforce, civic engagement, and more. SUNY will also be expanding programs such as the Empire State Service Corps, ASAP, ACE, and more, to improve students involvement and retention.
