This past week, Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys had the opportunity to connect with families and community partners at the Albany Police Department Community Pop-Up BBQ and Albany Recreation’s Playstreets at Black Lives Matter Park.

Strong schools are built through strong relationships. We are committed to showing up, building connections, supporting our community, and making sure families throughout the Capital Region know about the opportunities available at Brighter Choice.

🎓 FREE Kindergarten Readiness Program for Boys Ages 3–5!

Brighter Choice Charter School for Boys is excited to launch our 3rd Annual Jump Start: Kindergarten Readiness Program!

This unique program touches on the four major domains of child development: social-emotional, physical (gross motor and fine motor skills), language and cognitive skills. We will address the four domains with our focus on five content areas, literacy, mathematics, science and technology, social studies, and the arts. This program will be delivered by NYS certified teachers, academic intervention support and a behavior intervention specialist.

This free, monthly Saturday program will help young boys prepare for kindergarten through engaging activities focused on:

Daily Schedule:
11:00am-11:10am: Arrival/Welcome in Discovery Room
11:10am-11:25am: Morning Meeting/Expectations in Classrooms
11:25am-12:00pm: ELA/Math Lesson and Activity
12:00pm-12:30pm: Lunch/Bathroom Break
12:30pm-1:10pm: Physical Education Activities in the Gymnasium: Gross Motor Skills Development
1:10pm-1:50pm: Social Emotional Learning/Character Education
1:50pm-2:00pm: Dismissal from Discovery Room
