Sharkey joined students and faculty for a compelling discussion on the surges and declines of violence in the United States.
A leading voice in the field, Sharkey is the William S. Tod Professor of Sociology and Public Affairs at Princeton’s School of Public and International Affairs. His research centers on the challenges created by urban inequality, with a particular focus on community violence.
He is also the author of “Uneasy Peace: The Great Crime Decline, the Renewal of City Life, and the Next War on Violence.”

Twenty-three School of Criminal Justice students have been grappling with tough and timely legal questions this semester as they gear up for the undergraduate Moot Court Tournament.
Set for Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, it marks the return of the moot court program, which has been dormant since the pandemic and previously ran in partnership with Albany Law School.
