Sunday Celebration!
Today, we’re taking a break from the stats and celebrating something our Alexander community can be incredibly proud of: the completion of our inclusive playground project!
This project began with a group of dedicated PTO parents who recognized a need relatef to our playgrounds. Students who use wheelchairs or have other accessibility needs were not able to fully participate alongside their classmates on the mulch surfaces.
They saw a need, and they got to work.
Through the dedication of PTO parents, the generosity of our community, numerous grants, and countless hours of volunteer work, three playgrounds have now been completed:
Phase 1: Summer 2024
Phase 2: Summer 2025
Phase 3: Summer 2026
And one of the most amazing parts? The entire project was completed at ZERO cost to the school district.
This is community spirit in action. Parents saw an opportunity to make Alexander more inclusive, our community stepped up to help, and countless volunteers put in the time and effort to make it happen.
Today, we’re celebrating an incredible accomplishment, and a playground where more of our students can play, explore, and make memories together. ❤️
