Attention grade 5 families: We have changed the date for this year's Grade 5 Moving Up Ceremony. It is now scheduled for Wednesday, June 24 at 10 a.m.
Arbor Hill Elementary School’s vision is to educate the whole child. Common Core Learning Standards are our guiding force.
We expect our students to work towards level 4 (above grade level) academic achievement, and this can happen when parents and staff work together to keep children focused, when children are exposed to community programs and services, and when children drive their own learning. We will realize our vision if we can demonstrate a year of academic growth for each school year a child completes.

🦅 That’s a wrap on our final SOAR Day of the school year!
A huge thank you to Nelly’s Treats, 15 Love, YMCA On The Go, 4th Family, Amazing Athletes, Broadview FCU, and our very own Estimation Station for helping make the day a tremendous success.
Because of your partnership, our students experienced hands-on learning, teamwork, movement, financial literacy, and life skills that will stay with them long after the school year ends.
These weren’t just enrichment activities—they were opportunities to build confidence, create unforgettable memories, and give our students more tools to succeed.
Thank you to our providers, staff, and students for another amazing SOAR Day.
Together, we’re helping our students see what’s possible and giving them every opportunity to SOAR. 🦅✨

We love our moms!
Arbor Hill was thrilled to recognize all the amazing women in our students’ lives on Friday.
Students greeted their mom at the door with a flower. Then there was a cooking presentation and meal, courtesy of Allie B, for all to enjoy. The festivities were topped off with a painting session.
Happy Mother’s Day to ALL and thank you for all that you do!

Spring has sprung and we are here for it!
Some of our second graders got their hands dirty Wednesday and planted marigolds in our front gardens. Marli Klein and Lena Hitchcock’s students also met some crawly friends – worms, caterpillars and roly-poly bugs.
These beautiful beds will greet us the rest of the year, and possibly even early next fall - thank you budding botanists!

Our lovely grounds will soon become even more of an oasis in the city!
Through a partnership with Radix and the University at Albany Institute for Transformational and Ecosystem-based Climate Adaptation (ITECA), 27 new trees are being planted on our campus.
Students helped plant seven of the oak trees on Tuesday and learned about the important role they play in an urban ecosystem.
