Last week LBCC was able to host the Oregon SkillsUSA welding championships! What a great opportunity to connect with our Oregon high schools and their students. We had A LOT happening in the shops on Friday and Saturday and it was great to see all the hard work and skills these students have!

Not sure what to keep busy with this Summer? We have evening beginer welding classes called Welding 1 as well as one class of Welding 2 available.

These classes will start the week of June 26th through late August and are a single evening each week.

Welding 1 will give you the start you need to understanding how welding works and why it is important in many ways.

Welding 2 is the second class in our evening series and gives more practice in advanced techniques and positions as well as introduces several different processes you may encounter in the welding field.

Provides welding skill level required in minor industrial applications. Includes more advanced electric arc-welding and an introduction to gas-shielded arc processes (MIG and TIG), as well as lab and technical information on related welding subjects.

Seniors! Still undecided about your plans next year? Want to learn more about the exciting fields of Mechatronics, Welding, Machine Tool, and Non-Destructive Testing, all in LBCC's high tech facilities?

LBCC is offering our second FREE CTE Exploration Tour that will take place from May 1-17, 2023 and will go for three weeks with classes being held on Monday's and Wednesday's.

This event is open to area seniors but registration is limited to 14 students and is on a first come, first serve basis.

If you would like to take part in this great opportunity, please sign up soon and be aware of the schedule and commitment.

Our second CTE Exploration Tour will be held May 1-17, 2023 on Monday's & Wednesday's from 6-8:50 pm.

*Last Day to sign up is April 28, 2023.

Are you interested in an introductory Welding Course?

Welding 1 is a course designed for the new to welding and interested in gaining safe and basic level skills.

Processes introduces are Gas Metal Arc Welding, Oxy Fuel Welding, Brazing, and Cutting, as well as Shielded Metal arc welding.

Are you interested in learning about welding!?

We are offering evening classes this summer starting the last week of June! The class is called Welding 1 and it is an introductory class to GMAW (wire welding), Oxy Fuel welding and cutting, as well as SMAW (stick welding.)

Description:
Welding 1 stresses safety and equipment familiarization, with lab exercises for skill development in basic gas and electric arc welding. Includes technical information lectures in related subjects.

This class is great for a new welder, artist, or someone looking for something to try out! This class also counts as an elective for our welding program!
