Honey Extraction Day at Chehaw:
Open to all club members. Come join us this Saturday July 18th at Chehaw Park to extract honey from the SOWEGA Beekeepers Club apiary. We will meet at the apiary between 8:30-8:45am Saturday morning in order to get started at 9am.
Once we have extracted honey frames from the hives in the apiary we will proceed over to the pavilion located in the campground. We will then demonstrate different methods of extracting honey.

SOWEGA Beekeepers Club Board members Lizz Gold, Erika Antonio and Mike Antonio spent the day at Chehaw Park's Upland Wildlife Festival educating children and adults on beekeeping, importance of pollinators, how to get into beekeeping and how we can help these very important pollinators. Great job team and thank you to all who came out.

Had the opportunity on behalf of SOWEGA Beekeepers Club to present to an extremely wonderful group of ladies at the Albany Woman's Club. The presentation included an overview of SOWEGA Beekeepers Club, introduction to honeybees, the importance of native pollinators and the challenges they face. We also discussed strategies homeowners can implement to provide better resources in their yards and gardens year round for all pollinators.

Awesome day sharing knowledge of honeybees and beekeeping with K-12 scholars at Furlow Charter School Ag Day in Americus. All of the classes were amazing and it was impressive how much so many already knew about honeybees. Big shout out to Nick McGhee and Trella Whaley for everything they did to make this another successful SOWEGA Beekeepers Club event.
