This afternoon Lance O'Dowd (a Trinity School alumni) let us help him prepare for his thesis presentation. Lance brought in his sculpture of a "constricted" human heart and asked the students "What do you see when you look at this piece of art?" Some students saw a giraffe, elephant, dinosaur, tiger, turtle, and an old banana peel. When asked "What do you feel when you look at this piece of art work?", students replied "It's tied up so it doesn't run away", "Confused", "It reminds me of an ice sculpture ", "A little nervous ", "Excited because it's really cool", "Dizzy from the big spiral ", "Weird because old banana peels are weird" 😄

Today we spoke with Adams State alumni Dillon Granzella. Dillon graduated from Adams State in December of 2016 with a BA in marketing and a minor in management. Dillon is from Salida, Colorado and participated in 4 years of baseball for the Grizzlies. Dillon accepted a job right after graduation with Federated Insurance and starts on June 19th in Owatonna, Minnesota.
Why did you choose Adams State?
"I chose Adams because it was close to home which allowed my parents to watch me play baseball during my time at Adams. The business department caught my interest because of the friendly professors and great facilities"
What was your favorite thing about Adams State?
"My favorite thing was being able to look back as a senior at all the changes that were made to the campus from my freshman till senior year."
How has Adams State prepared you for your job?
"Adams has prepared me for my job with Federated by providing me with the fundamental knowledge I needed to land a job as well as be successful in my field of work."
"Looking back, having a college degree from Adams State has helped me get my foot in the door with a great company. The opportunity to play baseball during my time at Adams State has helped me to develop the intangible traits to be a good fit in the professional world. The strong relationships I have built with my professors and coaches over the past four years has also given me the professional recommendations I needed to land a job with a great company."

Today we got the chance to talk to two sport athlete Erik Hildebrandt. Erik is a two sport athlete, he is a sophomore and is on the football and baseball team. Erik is a Gilbert, Arizona native, has a 3.5 GPA and is currently majoring in mass communications.
Why did you choose Adams State?
"I got the opportunity to play two sports while getting a good education. Adams State has a beautiful campus and positive atmosphere that made me want to be a grizzly."
What is your favorite thing about Adams State?
"The small class sizes and the lifelong friendships I have made in the short amount of time I have been here."
What do you want to accomplish with the rest of your time at Adams State?
"I want to maintain a 3.5 GPA and contribute to the football and baseball team"
