Duet WiFi and E3D v6 Hot End installation in a Rostock Max V2 3D Printer.
That is what i have been doing for the last month and half, and it is ready for its maiden print. No, you cannot break a bottle of champagne on it.
For the Duet Wifi, the process has been:
1. Identify, label and remove wires from the Rambo control board.
2. Install Molex connectors to the component wires.
3. Plug them into their respective locations on the Duet Wifi.
4. Commission the Duet Wifi including power up, WiFi connection, firmware update, initial configuration parameter input, calibration of XYZ motion and extruder, calibration of bed and hot end heater control (PID), and maiden print.
Online instructions for this process are available, but there were significant steps and troubleshooting necessary which the online instruction cannot anticipate. In this case, troubleshooting and correction took about the same amount of time as completing the online instructions.
I know the board meeting is tonight, but I still intend to have it printing an effector plate which will not only mount the E3Dv6, but also allow mounting a BLTouch to enable automatic bed leveling. This will be the prototype printed in PLA. I plan to print the final with Nylon.
Come see the quiet smoothness of this new combination.
Check out some awesome examples of forging and other metal work below; and don't forget to stop by the open house tonight, 5 pm MST!
