Alamosa High School

Alamosa High School provides public education to students in grades 9 - 12. We offer a variety of vocational, Honors and AP courses.

This if the official, district managed AHS page. AHS is the Public High School for Alamosa, Colorado. The mascot is the Mean Moose and school colors are Maroon and White. Go Moose!

SLV Health will be offering free physicals for next school year. Parents must be present.

RSVP’s for the Sports Banquet are due by Friday, May 10th. A table will be set out in the commons during lunch all this week for athletes to RSVP and buy extra tickets.

NATA- Student Leadership Committee

[02/19/19]   Due to weather conditions, the boys basketball game scheduled for tonight against Pagosa (Feb 19) has been rescheduled for Wednesday, February 20th, at 5:00 p.m.

[02/07/19]   Friday, February 8th, the Mean Moose face off against Pagosa. This is senior recognition night for our basketball players and our cheerleaders. On Saturday, February 9th, the Mean Moose play Centauri. JV and C Teams will be played at the high school. Girls Varsity starts at 2:00 p.m. followed by the boys Varsity and then the Men's and Women's ASU Basketball games all at Adams State University. ANY AHS SENIOR that attends the game will be entered in to a drawing for a $500 scholarship. SENIORS be sure to stop by the admission desk to pick up your poker chip to be entered in to this drawing. Admission prices are $5 for students/seniors and $10 for adults. All Alamosa district and athletic passes are accepted.

Mark your calendars! Saturday, February 9th, home Varsity Basketball games will be played at ASU.

The basketball game at Bayfield today has been cancelled due to the weather. Wrestling is still on for tonight with matches beginning at 6:00 p.m. vs. Montezuma Cortez.
Admission is $5 for Adults, $4 students, passes accepted

Saturday, Jan 12th
Weather permitting, basketball will be traveling to Monte Vista: GJV at Middle School 3:30 pm, BJV at High School at 4:00 p.m. Both Varsity teams will play at the high school with girls at 5:30 pm and Boys at 7:00 p.m.

The 30th Annual Wrestling Invitational is still a go for Saturday with matches beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Admission is $10 for Adults and students/seniors $8 for an all day pass. Only CHSAA/CHSCA passes accepted.

Congratulations to the Alamosa Science Club under the direction of Katie Montague! This group was awarded the BEST OF COUNTRY AWARD from the 9th Annual Rio Research Roundup and the Rio Grande International Study Center. There were 78 participating schools and the Alamosa Science Club is the best in the United States! We are proud of you!

[01/04/19]   Happy New Year! Are you looking for something to do this weekend? Tomorrow, Friday, Jan 4th, is a home basketball game. The boys vs. Kent Denver: JV at 5:30 pm and Varsity at 7:00 pm. Saturday, January 5th, the wrestlers are headed to Pueblo South. Girls basketball will be hosting Ignacio at 4:00 pm and 5:30 pm. The boys will be at home also facing off with Pinnacle at 1:00, 2:30 and 4:00pm. Good luck Mean Moose!

Congrats, Chad Jackson, on signing to run at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs! Chad is pictured with his parents, Mandy and Darrell Jackson; along with Jason Mannerberg; brother & workout partner Ian Jackson and Principal Andy Lavier.

Did you hear the news? AHS Volleyball defeated Resurrection Christian last night in 5 matches! They will face off with C.S. Christian today at 3:30. Listen to KSPK or watch the girls on the NFHS network and cheer them on to victory! A shoutout to the AHS Rowdy Crowd for making the trip to Denver last night!

There will be a Winter Sports Parent meeting on Monday, November 26th, at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. If your child plans to wrestle or play basketball, please attend this meeting.
