The recipients received a $3,500 scholarship to attend Adams State at the 102 Annual Ski-Hi Stampede, Colorado’s Oldest Pro-Rodeo, on Sunday, July 14, 2024.

We recently had a surprise visit from a former School of Education faculty member - Dr. Anicia Alvarez, who brought along a group of her colleagues from the Philippines to learn from U.S. IHEs and educator preparation programs about strategies for working with vulnerable populations. Leadership in Education Administration & Development (LEAD) - Graduate Degrees - Adams State University Leadership in Education Administration & Development (LEAD) at Adams State University historically known as the Higher Education Administration & Leadership (HEAL) program is a newly transformed and innovative program that focuses on K-20 educational leadership.

Summer time is PD time for teachers and we at the Adams State University School of Education are always excited to work with educators on developing new content and skills for the classroom! Today, Dr. Michele Mann hosts secondary science teachers for some PD on integrating science and technology through a pipette lab.

Happy Monday, School of Education friends and followers! Here are some more fun photos from our NSF Noyce "Developing STARS" rural immersion event! The group visited the Great Sand Dunes National Monument to do some sightseeing and spear throwing, engaged in some 3D printing workshops and learned about the amazing agriculture program at Monte Vista High School!

The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce "Developing STARS" grant is a joint initiative of the School of Education and the School of STEM at Adams State University. This week, we hosted several prospective STEM teachers for a 4-day rural immersion experience that included education and STEM activities, tours of SLV schools and communities, and events with local teachers and administrators. A special thanks to .pirates and Conejos School District for hosting us for school tours. Here are some fun photos from our visit to Antonito where we learned about the amazing work happening around Expeditionary Learning and paid a visit to the famous Cano's castle!
