NMSU Alamogordo was pleased to recently welcome Maj. Clasen, CMSgt Esperanza, and Deputy Director Dani Harkins from the 49th Force Support Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base to campus!

As the Honorary Commander for the 49th Force Support Squadron, NMSU-A Marketing Communications Specialist Chelsea Hayes wanted to connect Maj. Clasen, the squadron's new commander, with the campus and provide an opportunity to see firsthand all that NMSU-A has to offer.

Throughout the visit, they met with representatives from across campus to learn more about our academic programs, career and technical education opportunities, student support services, and resources available to military members and their dependents.

Maj. Clasen was pleased to learn more about NMSU-A and is looking forward to supporting the campus as we continue strengthening our partnership with Holloman and creating connections that benefit our military community.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the visit such a success!

Our ๐Œ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ซ ๐Œ๐จ๐ง๐๐š๐ฒ feature this week is ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ž๐š ๐‡๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ฌ.

Chelsea is passionate about using communication to connect people with opportunities that can transform lives. In her role at New Mexico State University Alamogordo, she leads the collegeโ€™s marketing and communications efforts, sharing the stories of students, faculty, staff, and the community while promoting educational opportunities, workforce training, and student success.

Her commitment to the community extends far beyond her professional role. Chelsea serves as Vice-Chair of the Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce, Assistant District Director for NCMPR District 4, an Honorary Commander with the 49th Force Support Squadron at Holloman Air Force Base, and a member of the Board of Directors for COPE. She is also the owner of two small businesses, Ebenezer Hats and Ebenezer Marketing Co., giving her a firsthand understanding of entrepreneurship and the importance of supporting local businesses.

Across every role she holds, Chelseaโ€™s goal remains the same: to strengthen our community through collaboration, meaningful storytelling, and helping people connect with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.

Thank you, Chelsea, for your commitment to building connections, supporting others, and using your talents to help Southern New Mexico thrive. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ™๏ธ A fresh look is going up around NMSU-A!

A HUGE shout out and thank you to PNM for sending members of their crew to help us install our new street pole banners along campus! ๐Ÿ™Œ

From "Be Bold." and "Go Aggies" toโ€œYour College on the Hill,โ€ these new banners add a little more NMSU-A pride to Scenic Drive and help welcome students, employees, and community members to campus.

Weโ€™re grateful to PNM for lending their time, equipment, and expertise to help us bring this project to life. Community partnerships like this make a difference, and we appreciate their support of NMSU-A!

Be sure to check out the new banners the next time youโ€™re passing the College on the Hill. โค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ‰ Welcome back, NMSU-A!

Today marks the beginning of the Fall 2026 semester and a new academic year at NMSU-A. Whether youโ€™re stepping onto campus for the first time or continuing your journey with us, weโ€™re excited to welcome you to the 2026โ€“2027 academic year!

This year, weโ€™re challenging every member of our campus community to embrace our new charge:

โœจ Find Your Path. Build Your Future. Make It Happen. โœจ

Your path may look different from the person sitting next to youโ€”and thatโ€™s the point. Explore new opportunities, ask questions, connect with your professors and classmates, use the resources available to you, and keep moving toward the future youโ€™re working to create.

Hereโ€™s to a new semester filled with learning, growth, connection, and plenty of moments worth celebrating.

Welcome back, Aggies. Letโ€™s make it happen! โค๏ธ
