Love Families, it’s time to get our Walk-a-Thon fundraising started for our Walk-a-thon event on Friday, October 16th!

This year, we have a BIG goal of raising $70,000 to support the amazing programs and experiences our PTA helps provide for our students—including art programs, cultural heritage nights, garden programs, music and band, classroom funds and supplies, field trips, and so much more!

We need every family’s help to get us off to a strong start!

Select your child’s teacher and T-shirt size so they receive their FREE Walk-a-Thon T-shirt for the event!
Send out at least ONE donation request to a friend or family member. PledgeStar makes it quick and easy to send requests by text or email!

For every 5 donation requests you send, your student will receive an additional entry in the drawing—so the more requests you send, the more chances you have to win!

Every request and every donation—big or small—gets us closer to our $70,000 goal and helps provide enriching opportunities for ALL Love Elementary students.

Happy Tuesday Love Eagles! We have a lot of events coming up this month
- September 2 (tomorrow!) is our first Love PTA general meeting at 6pm in multipurpose room. All families are invited. Find out more details on Konstella.
- September 4 is the due date for T-shirt designs. The winner will have their design on Love's Walk-a-Thon t-shirts. See the flyer for more details!
- September 10 is our Art Docent Info Night -- learn how you can get involved in your child's classroom and support art at Love. See the flyer for more details!
- September 11 is our Coffee with the Principal -- find out more on Konstella
- September 12 is our first Garden Workday -- help out in our garden. See the flyer for more details!

Join us for Love PTA’s first Coffee with the Principal tomorrow, August 21, at 8am on the blacktop at Love Elementary! Meet other families, chat with our principal, and get plugged into our community. We will have fresh coffee, delicious donuts, and some awesome new school merch available from Love’s Spirit Store. And a huge thank you to Erin Chan-Adams for sponsoring our Coffee with the Principal!

We are hosting a Back-to-School Play Date on August 10th at Love Elementary at 2pm. Enter at the Lincoln Entrance! Come, let the kids play, meet other families, and:

- Love PTA Spirit Store will be open if you’d like to purchase Love Elementary merchandise!

- LEAPS will be giving away free backpacks and school supplies for families who need them!

- Love PTA Board members will be available to help parents sign up for Konstella, our one stop shop for families to stay up-to-date on all the information for the school year.

We will have Chromebooks available for families to complete the Annual Data Confirmation on the AERIES Family Portal. This is not a drop-off event, please do not leave your child unattended. Note: Teachers and school staff will be preparing for the start of school and will not be available to meet with families. Please do not enter the school building.

Join us for a Kindergarten Play Date for Love Elementary's soon-to-be kindergarteners and their families on Saturday August 1st at 4pm or Sunday August 9th at 11am -- both play dates will be at McKinley Park. This is a great opportunity to meet new friends, connect with other families, and have some fun before school starts!

Alameda Unplugged + Edison Digital Safety & Literacy Committee are hosting a screen-free potluck playdate on Wednesday July 29th, and we'd love to see you there. Congratulations Assistant Principal Rouse!

I am absolutely thrilled to share some wonderful news regarding our school leadership team for the upcoming school year. Please join me in celebrating the appointment of Ms. Sherry Rouse as our new Assistant Principal!

When searching for the right leader to step into this vital role, our priority was finding someone who possesses both the rigorous technical skills necessary to manage school operations and a deep alignment with the spirit of our campus. Following a competitive selection process, it became abundantly clear that Ms. Rouse brings the perfect balance to this position. In addition to her strong grasp of instructional leadership, data-driven decision-making, and administrative systems, she holds deep community roots and invaluable contextual expertise here at Love Elementary. Having spent years building authentic trust on our campus, her profound understanding of our students, staff, and families is a powerful resource that allows her to transition seamlessly into this new capacity.

Ms. Rouse is a passionate, equity-centered educator who believes whole-heartedly in a restorative approach to student support and instructional collaboration. Together, we share a unified, student-centered vision that places the academic, social, and emotional needs of our children at the center of every decision we make.'

Over the summer, Ms. Rouse and I will be working to map out a clear, structured, operational plan for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to ensure a smooth, organized transition so that we hit the ground running in August with stable, supportive systems that serve our entire school community.

Please join us for our final Coffee with Principal Lagdamen tomorrow 5/29 at 8am on the blacktop. We will have hot coffee and pastries. Come to connect with other parents, celebrate achievements from this year, and share your appreciation and well wishes for Principal Lagdamen. The Spirit Store will be open, we will be selling yearbooks for $24 and summer movie tickets from Alameda Theatre for $10.

We're hosting our Ice Cream Social for incoming Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten (K) families today at 2pm. We're so excited to welcome our newest (and youngest) students to Love Elementary. We will be selling yearbooks for $24 and summer movie tickets from Alameda Theatre for $10.
