Skibbereen to Clonakilty, 35 hilly miles. Rode along the coast - spectacular scenery. For a non-cyclist, I’m really enjoying this!

Today we rode 33 miles from
Kenmare to Bantry with total elevation gain of 2122 ft. On an e-bike, not too bad! 😊

The scenery was gorgeous, weather beautiful (blue skies, 67 degrees). We have been very lucky.

Yesterday, we passed by a local who was on foot. He asked if we were on e-bikes; we said yes and he replied “lazy shaggers”. We are proud to be insulted in such a colorful Irish way and henceforth we’ve named our group The Lazy Shaggers (not Jack of course).

Today we rode 44 miles from Killarney to Kenmare. Climbed two big hills, each about 900 ft. Even with the pedal assist, it was hard work. I don’t know how Jack can do it on manuel bike. No way I can.

Climbed a twisty road between two mountains called the Gap of Dunloe. Gorgeous views of lakes and mountains and colorful sheep. Definitely had vibes of Lord of the Rings. Kept thinking of Hobbits, wizards, ringwraiths and orcs!

First day of cycling the southwestern coast of Ireland, Tralee to Killarney. Biked 40 miles. Second pic is of swimmers in the ocean, water temp 62°, outside temp 60. That’s called a balmy day here in Ireland in August!

It’s a wrap! Just completed six week-long summer camps. We had a wonderful time with the kids, and beautiful art projects were created. School starts soon, wishing everyone a great school year. Meanwhile … time for me to go on vacation 😊
