That's why we created The Village Kids’ Club – to give parents the time they need, while ensuring kids have an enriching experience. Inspired by cruise ship kids’ clubs but with a stronger emphasis on education, at the VKC, kids play, learn, and cultivate friendships. Think of it as a fun-filled educational haven for your elementary-aged child. The dedicated, beautiful, facility has a classroom, a calming cave, a kids lounge, a private restroom, and a climbing structure. Plus, every class has free play and social time. No school? We have something planned. 🌿🔬

October 12: Forest Detective Agency brings real owl-pellet science, nature investigation, and a Volcano Treasure Hunt.

October 23: The Mad Scientist Lab brings glow slime, exploding pumpkin chemistry, rainbow potions, and black-light experiments.

Both camps run at The Village, 1102 Lincoln, with a full day designed to make school days off easier for families: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM is included, with camp programming from 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Arrive early, stay late, or pick up anytime before 5:30 PM—no add-ons, extra fees, or pickup rush.

We’re really exited for the VKC in Gensan! They are having a Grand Opening event 9/28. The Library right here in Alameda will have an event 10/3 - with dissection stations, art activities and more. Drop in by Saturday 10-1 Lincoln at Willow.

One art form, layers of stories.

This Friday and Saturday, kids will explore Matryoshka nesting dolls, learning about their cultural history and distinctive artistic tradition before painting their own set to take home.

It’s an evening of art, storytelling, and creative expression, with plenty of time to enjoy dinner and friends along the way.

Using fabric paints, stencils, and their own ideas, children will explore color, pattern, and personal design while creating something they can actually use afterward.

Knights or wizards? This Friday, kids get to choose.

Children will create their own swords, shields, wizard hats, and wands, then bring their creations into the fun for a Knight & Wizard Parade. It’s an evening built around imagination, making, and playing together.

Week 3 of Paper Wizards: The Origami Zoo Begins

Last Wednesday, Ian guided our young makers as they began the next chapter of Paper Wizards: creating their Origami Zoo.

With just paper and a series of careful folds, children practiced following sequences, paying attention to detail, and trying again when a fold didn’t quite work. Over the next few weeks, their collection of paper animals will continue to grow.

Thank you to Ian for sharing his creativity with our young makers.

How Big Is My World?

This week at Quantum Quest, children explored what it really means for something to get bigger.

At The Village, K–2 students went from one pea to one quadrillion, discovering patterns in powers of ten, moving along number lines, and even using groups of ten fingerprints to create coral for our underwater mural.

At The Library, Grades 3–4 explored scale from another direction, using grids, careful measurement, and proportional reasoning to enlarge their own designs while learning how artists, architects, and engineers turn small ideas into something much bigger.

Different ages, different projects, one big idea: math becomes more meaningful when children can see it, build it, move through it, and connect it to the world around them.

VKC’s second home at 2062 Lincoln Avenue gives our older kids more room for bigger builds, hands-on learning, deeper projects, and growing independence, all in a calmer space designed with them in mind.

Ballet Beats | Tuesdays, 5:30–6:30 PM at The Village

Ten weeks, one classical ballet variation.

Dancers ages 5–9 begin with the foundations, from their first plié and ballet positions to adagio, jumps, and turns. Week by week, those skills come together as they learn and perform the “Blue Bird” solo, a classical ballet variation.

Led by Nina Kelley, Ballet Beats gives young dancers the opportunity to build technique, coordination, focus, and confidence through progressive instruction.
