STOP before you press START! 🛑🪡

Sometimes the embroidery mistakes that cost us the most come from the smallest things we forgot to check. 😩

Wrong placement. Wrong needle. Not enough bobbin. Fabric caught underneath. And yes, the dreaded “I just stitched the sleeve to the shirt.” 😂

That’s why I created this 10-Point Final Embroidery Checklist for beginners, and honestly, it’s a good reminder no matter how long you’ve been embroidering.

Before that first stitch:

LOOK → TRACE → CLEAR → START.

A few extra seconds can save your garment and a whole lot of frustration.

📌 SAVE this checklist and make it part of your pre-stitch routine.

Which one have you learned the hard way NEVER to skip? 👇🏾😂

CHOOSE carefully…which stabilizer would YOU use? 👀🪡

Knowing which stabilizer to grab can make a huge difference in your finished embroidery. But here’s the catch: you can’t choose stabilizer based on the garment name alone.

Fabric construction, stretch, design density, and the finished look you want all matter.

So, let’s test your embroidery knowledge! 💜

You have 6 projects in the graphic. Choose the stabilizer you think is the best starting choice for each one.

🚫 No Googling! 😂
👇🏾 Drop your answers 1–6 in the comments.

And don’t worry if you’re unsure. That’s the whole point of the challenge. We’re learning together.

📌 SAVE this post because the answer + stabilizer cheat sheet is coming next!

STOP guessing what’s wrong with your embroidery! 🪡👀

When something goes wrong, it’s tempting to start changing everything: tension, needle, bobbin, stabilizer, thread…all at once. 😩

But your stitches are giving you clues.

Bird nesting, puckering, skipped stitches, loose stitches, thread breaks, and bobbin thread showing on top can each point you toward what to check first.

A better troubleshooting habit is:

SYMPTOM → CHECK → TEST → ADJUST

Change one thing at a time, test it, and pay attention to the result. That makes it much easier to figure out what actually solved the problem.

📌 SAVE this troubleshooting guide so you have it the next time your embroidery doesn’t look quite right.

Now tell me: Which of these embroidery problems gives you the MOST trouble? 👇🏾

COME into October ready to grow! 💜🪡

Hello, October! 🍂 A new month means another opportunity to learn something new, strengthen your skills, and become more confident behind your embroidery machine.

At J’s Creations University, we’re keeping the focus on what helps embroiderers grow: practical education, techniques, troubleshooting, resources, business tips, and those little lessons you usually learn through trial and error. 😩😂

LOOK at your stitches BEFORE you blame your embroidery machine! 👀🪡

Bird nesting. Loose stitches. Bobbin thread showing on top. Puckering.

Those aren’t just annoying embroidery problems. They’re clues that can help you figure out what needs to be checked.

The more you learn to recognize what your stitches are telling you, the easier troubleshooting becomes.

📌 SAVE this Embroidery Troubleshooting Guide for the next time something doesn’t look right at your machine.

SAVE THIS before your next embroidery project! 🪡📌

One of the questions I hear from beginner embroiderers is, “What size needle should I use?”

And the answer isn’t always the same.

Your fabric, thread, design, and needle point all matter when choosing the right embroidery needle. That’s why I created this Beginner Embroidery Needle Cheat Sheet as a quick reference you can come back to when you need it.

From 65/9 to 90/14, this guide gives you a starting point for understanding which needle may work best for different projects.

📌 SAVE this graphic to your phone or Facebook saves. You’ll want it the next time you’re standing at your machine wondering which needle to grab. 😉

WHAT’S the ONE embroidery stitch you’ll choose every time? 👀🪡

We all have that one technique that just hits different. 😂

✨ Satin Stitch
✨ Appliqué
✨ Puff Embroidery
✨ Fill Stitch
✨ Triple Running Stitch
✨ Towel/Chenille Stitch

You can only keep ONE. The other five have to go. 👀

👇🏾 Drop A, B, C, D, E or F in the comments, AND tell me why you're keeping it!

Then send this to your embroidery friend and see if they choose the same one. 👀

DON’T wait until your embroidery machine starts giving you problems to think about maintenance. 🪡

A clean, well-maintained machine can make a BIG difference in your stitch quality and how much time you spend troubleshooting.

Before you start your embroidery day, build a simple maintenance routine. I put together this 7-point Daily Machine Maintenance Checklist to help you know what to check. 👆🏾

And here’s something beginners learn quickly: sometimes the “machine problem” isn’t really a machine problem at all. A little lint, an improperly seated thread, a worn needle, or a neglected hook area can create a whole lot of frustration.

📌 SAVE this checklist and make it part of your daily embroidery routine.

Five minutes now could save you hours of troubleshooting later. 💜🪡
