Arts LIFT is looking for a few bold high schoolers from Akron Public Schools who want to make a MAJOR indoor MURAL for the Akron International Institute this summer! Work with Myers School of Art faculty and artists and a bunch of new friends this June 3-June 7 from 9-3pm to do something BIG, IMPORTANT, AMAZIN'!

For Week 5 student artists were asked staged (or capture) some magic moments where they could photograph feelings.

They were challenged with how a photographer can help an audience share or understand their feelings, moods, joys, celebrations, or heaviness. How can they generate empathy in their viewers for the things they think are important or interesting or disturbing?

For Week 4, the artists had to consider not just people, places, and things but what are they doing, where are they, and why are those things important and to start to use their images to tell us a story! Check out what they came up with!

Covid-19 has fundamentally changed the way humans interact in only a three month time frame. Our students were asked to showcase how this has impacted their communication with their friends and family during this time.
