Hello STEM Families,

Please take a moment to watch the Orientation Video from Instructional Leader Morgan, Coach Lane and Coach Rodgers.

Then be sure to visit the NIHF STEM Learner and Parent Portal to view the Welcome Videos for each grade, meet the STEM Coaches on the Parent Portal and look around the site for other useful information for both learners and parents!

The welcome videos are also posted below along with some additional information from some of the learning coaches.

To join in any of the Google Meets on Wednesday, September 2, 2020, click on the appropriate Google Meet link provided below during the times specified. Learning coaches will be available to answer any questions that you may have. This information has also been shared with your learner, so if you do not have a gmail account, you may either have your learner sign into the meet for you or you may join the meet by dialing the number listed below and entering in the corresponding PIN number.

Just wanted to highlight Instructional Leader Morgan's all call that went out the other evening, in case someone did not receive the call.

* APS will be starting the school year out ONLINE ONLY for the first nine weeks.

* APS is having a staggered start which means that our 8th graders will start on September 9th and our 5th, 6th and 7th graders will start on September 11th.

* APS has suspended the uniform policy for the entire school year. So when we are finally able to return to school, you will not have to worry about wearing a uniform, unless you want to. :)

* We are planning a Virtual Orientation that will be available prior to the start of school for families that will provide information that will put your learner on path for successful learning.

* A supply list will be sent out once we have adjusted it to meet the needs for virtual learning.

* Anyone needing a Chromebook will be contacted soon so that you may stop by the school to pick it up.

Please remember to complete the Returning Student Online Registration as soon as possible. You should have received the instructions in the back to school packet that the district sent out. This will ensure that the information that we have on file is accurate and up to date. The Returning Student Online Registration also includes some important consent forms that need to be completed every year.

If you haven't already read APS will be opening this fall as online only. Here is a link to the Superintendent's message:

Akron Public Schools Board of Education voted July 27, 2020, to approve a plan for reopening our schools online only. In other words, it will be 100% remote learning, to begin the year, with a reevaluation toward the end of the first nine weeks.

The school lunch program starts again Monday. Please visit you local school for a breakfast and lunch package between 9:30 - 11:30.

The Pepperoni Roll fundraiser has started. Your learner should have brought home a order form. Order forms and money are due February 12, 2020.

Rolls are $2 each and will be delivered fresh February 21, 2020
