Hey, Manchester Families & Friends! This would be a great day to get your Manchester gear, for the year!

Since starting at Manchester (2007), I have wanted to run a summer theatre camp to introduce the art to students, earlier. With the district building realignment, students now don't get their first real in-district theatre experience until 6th grade! 🤯

At the end of June, The Manchester High School Drama Club, in collaboration with with NEO Girl Scouts, put on our first-ever Summer Theatre Camp!!! To call it a success would be an understatement!

Headed by incoming Drama Club President, Tayden Gomberg, we hosted 29 elementary students, and were assisted by 9 current MHS Drama Club students!

The collaboration with the NEO Girl Scouts was for Tayden to earn her GS Gold Award! Step one was for her to fundraise and develop leadership with running the camp! Step two will be building new set pieces for our new theater!

The best part for me was that 27 of those elementary students had never been on stage or even acted before our camp! At the end, we put on a 1-act play (scripts in hand)...utilizing all 29 students (grades: Pre-K through 5th!)

I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Gameday Sportswear for creating our logo, and printing our awesome camp shirts! They gave us a discount, as this event was a fundraiser for the new set pieces we'll be building for our new facility! I appreciate all Gameday does to support our local district, and especially the MHS: Drama Club, Band, Choir, & BBQ Club!

BIG TIME SHOUT-OUT to Gameday Sportswear!!! Gameday is our ONE and ONLY...SEASON SPONSOR!!! They stepped up in a big way and provided us with these amazing shirts! (Both our Grease show shirts, and our MHS Drama Club Leadership shirts!)

Shout out to Amanda Klaehn and her husband Dave, owners of Thirty-two 8 Inspired & Co. for their support of the MHS Drama Club! Not only did they purchase a season-long Gold Sponsorship, but today, they brought pizza to feed all 50 members of the Spring Musical. Also important of note, Amanda is a graduate of Manchester High School, and was in the Drama Club!
