With the latest news that CDC is recommending against holding events of 50 or more people for at least the next two months, the University has decided that it is in the best interest of our campus community to postpone both our Spring Commencement ceremonies on May 8-10 and The University of Akron School of Law Commencement ceremonies on May 17.
We know this is an event many have been looking forward to. We are so proud of the graduating Class of 2020 and look forward to celebrating with you later on. Alternate dates have not yet been set. More details will be shared as soon as they are known.
Graduates will still have their degrees conferred on May 8-10 and May 17, and paper diplomas will be mailed a short time after.
Edit: An earlier version of this post only said May 9 and May 17. This applies to all ceremonies, May 8-10 and May 17.
