Springfield Schools are closed on Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of Labor Day.

Due to heat, Schrop and Spring Hill will be closed again on Sept. 3, 2026.

Springfield High School/Junior High and PreSchool will be open.

UPDATE ON SCHOOL CLOSURES 9/2/26

ALL SPRINGFIELD SCHOOLS CLOSED

Due to a cooling system issue at the High School, all Springfield Local Schools are closed tomorrow, Sept. 2, 2026. PLCC will still be open and buses will be at the High School to transport PLCC students at regular times.

Update 4:00 pm: All buses have been loaded and departed Spring Hill.

Shout out to the transportation department for working diligently to provide safe rides home for our students.

Update 3:31 pm: The accident that does NOT involve our buses is almost cleared but it still causing some delay.

There is an accident being reported on 224 near Shanafelt. This DOES NOT involve any of our buses but is causing a delay for them. Our drivers are working hard to get all students home as quickly as they can. Know that your child’s route from Schrop and Spring Hill may be affected and drop off times at home may be delayed.

A huge thank you to The Marilyn Stroud Music Alive Program and The Summit FM for donating a incredible new batch of instruments to our music program! 🎶✨

Thanks to your support, our musicians now have a new acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, trumpet, trombone, and congas to play with. Community partnerships like this keep local music education thriving! 🎸🎺🎹🥁
