The Springfield Board of Education will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 20 at 6:00 PM in the Springfield Administration Building & Preschool Center. Please note the date change.

These meetings offer an opportunity to hear important updates, learn about upcoming plans, and stay informed about the work happening throughout our schools. We welcome and encourage families, staff, and community members to attend and stay connected with our district.

For 250 years, America’s story has been told through the voices, creativity, and talents of its people — and on May 16, Springfield students will help tell that story through music and art during our “250 Years of US” celebration.

Throughout the day, our students from across the district will showcase their talents through band, choir, recorder, ukulele, and visual art performances as we celebrate America’s 250th birthday in a way that highlights creativity, patriotism, and community pride. Student artwork will be on display all day, and performances will fill the auditorium from morning through the afternoon.

We are also incredibly honored to welcome Mary Taylor — Springfield High School graduate and former Ohio Lieutenant Governor — as our keynote speaker. Her message on the importance of civics and arts education will be a meaningful part of this special event.

Most importantly, this celebration is truly for everyone. Whether you have a child performing, graduated from Springfield years ago, or simply want to support our students and community, we hope you’ll join us. All concerts and art displays are free and open to the public, and we encourage you to invite friends, neighbors, and family members to be part of the day.
