Happy national AHEC week from our AHEC to yours! As we move through this week we look at all the amazing things our center and centers around the USA has done for their communities, scholars and more!

Today we say goodbye to one of our most beloved friends, heroes, supporters, and well our boss.

Patti our Regional Director retires today.

Patti has always been someone that was willing to support AHEC and its message no matter the cost. She would be the first person to tell you how cool a new project was or to give you the support you needed when something new you wanted to try didn’t quite work out.

One of my favorite memories of Patti was when I had told her about our podcast team recording an episode with the yellow wiggle, despite having no idea what the wiggles are she asked if I could write a blurb about it for our news letter so she could help support this project.

Patti has been a pillar in mine and many other scholars AHEC experience, always willing to lend us a hand. To offer support, and guidance when we were lost and for many ARI-AHEC scholars she became the person we turned who when we were scared and confused during the transition from one center director to another.

Patti I will miss seeing your smiling face, miss your unwavering support and confidence in us and the program; and can not wait to see you get to relax and enjoy your retirement. You will be missed, please stop by and say hi in between your much needed relaxation. Thank you for all you have done for us.

Adam has taken a job as a Ranger-Paramedic at Yellowstone during his gap year before heading off to medical school

Our regional Alumni and Advocacy award winner was an ARI-AHEC grad! We could not be prouder of all the wonderful work she has done in helping to support AHEC. Once a scholar always a scholar!
