AW students attended the WEC Leadership Conference at Northwestern College, where they explored the five pillars of champions: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. The event encouraged students to lead by example and put these values into action in their classrooms, on their teams, and throughout their communities.

Mrs. Held and her English 10 students, are reading Lord of the Flies, so students had to gather materials (in the pouring rain) and build their own miniature huts, just like the boys on the island! Winners of the contest included Aundrea and Peyton for 1st period, and Teygan, Hunter, and Coen for 3rd period!

Today we celebrate the coaches who give so much of their time, energy, and heart to our student-athletes. Coaches do much more than teach the game/speech/play. They teach leadership, discipline, teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and what it means to be part of something bigger than yourself. They encourage our athletes when things are tough, celebrate their successes, and help them grow both on and off the field/court/auditorium.

To all of our coaches, thank you for the countless practices, games, early mornings, late nights, conversations, and sacrifices you make for our students.

National Officials Appreciation Week, October 4th and runs through Saturday, October 10th.
As you know, officials are essential to education-based activities, providing students with safe, fair, and meaningful opportunities to learn, compete, and grow. During Officials Appreciation Week, we recognize every individual who gives their time and expertise to serve our schools—not only at the varsity level, but also at junior varsity, sophomore, freshman, and middle school events, where positive experiences and lifelong lessons begin.

Officials play a key part in high school athletics. As shortages continue to grow each year in this profession, please respect all officials. They are sacrificing a lot of their time so our athletes can have events, without them there are no events. When you see an official this week, make sure to tell them thanks!

We appreciate our school custodian staff as they do a lot for our school. Today we want to take a moment to recognize and thank our amazing custodians for everything they do each and every day! From keeping our school clean, safe, and to taking care of the countless things that often go unnoticed.

Thank you for your dedication and all the behind-the-scenes work that helps our students and staff have a great place to learn and work!
