South Range High School Robotics Club

South Range Robotics had a great day at the MCCTC Finals.
We now have both teams qualified for State in Marion! A-team had previously qualified at an Invitational event for their unique design and today, won the Build award for League. Also today, B-team secured one of four state qualifying awards, winning the Design award! A major technical accomplishment! They have a unique robot with capabilities and strategic options outside their league competitors. That, combined with their build quality and Engineering notebook got them the Win!
Further, B-team went into finals ranked 8th out of almost 60 teams in the league. As a top 16 rank, they chose A-team as their selection alliance and headed into the finals bracket. They made it all the way to the semi-finals, just one match away, and also ranked 3rd overall in Skills via a combined autonomous and driver score. We are very proud of them. Saturday is a MCCTC hosted open event and the State competition will be in March. Great job teams! We are very proud of you…as coaches, and parents!

A and B teams had a great time at the VEX Robotics Kalahari Classic in Sandusky, OH. This is a “Worlds” experience that is an open competition. 180+teams from US and Canada attended. South Range’s B-Team won the ‘Create Award’ for creative engineering solutions to tackle the challenges of the game. Their design was explained through an interview panel that allows them to demonstrate their technical, communication and soft skills. Their engineering notebook and competitive standing also play a role in these awards. This is a serious achievement for our small town team at a competition that is VEX Worlds-caliber! We are so proud of them. They are a great group of kids!

Congratulations to our B team for an incredible run yesterday at Firestone High School! They were 2nd in qualifiers out of 48 teams and barely lost in the semifinals. They won 1st place in skills and qualified for the State Championship on March 2nd!! 🏆 They also won the Amaze Award for outstanding quality-built, high-scoring robot! ⭐️

Congratulations to both our teams for an amazing job today at the Akron STEM Holiday Classic! Both teams made it to the elimination rounds and to top off a great day, the A team won the Create Award out of 52 teams!

Congratulations to South Range A-team for securing a spot to state today! B team was right behind them and qualified in the #1 spot In qualifier matches, undefeated across 8 matches. A-team only lost one qualifier. A and B teams allianced
for the finals.
A-team won the Build Award on the newly debuted “Reuben” and B teams’ “Road Hog” won the Amaze Award. Both significant achievements for engineering notebook, design process, build and programming. Nice job Raiders!
