Yesterday was No Kings Day—but for me, and for TransHumanity, its message doesn’t end in a single day.
It lives on in every moment we choose to stand in our truth.
I know what it means to be controlled, silenced, and told who I was allowed to be. I was pushed out by my own family for being transgender. I endured six months of conversion therapy meant to erase me. I spent years detransitioning—not because it was who I am, but because I was made to feel like I had no other choice.
I lost my home. I lost my stability. I lost parts of myself.
But I never lost my truth.
I fought my way back. I re-transitioned. I chose to live authentically, even when everything around me tried to break me. And through that fight, I found my purpose: building TransHumanity—a movement rooted in unity, equality, and freedom for all people.
No Kings Day reminds us that no one has the right to rule over our identities, our bodies, or our existence. Not yesterday. Not today. Not ever.
We are not subjects. We are not broken. We are not less.
We are human.
And we rise—together.

We honor our transgender, non-binary, and gender-diverse family whose courage illuminates the path toward a more inclusive world.

May this Thanksgiving be a reminder that humanity thrives when we stand united — when we protect one another’s dignity, affirm each person’s identity, and nurture a world where all people are seen, respected, and cherished.

🌟 TransHumanity — Remember Our Fallen 🕯️

On this Transgender Day of Remembrance, we gather as one community, one family, one united voice.
Across the pink, blue, and white horizon of our shared struggle and our shared hope, we honor every trans life taken by violence, hatred, and injustice.

Their memories burn like candles in the darkness —
a flame that will never be extinguished.

We will not forget the lives we lost this year, and we say their names, we tell their stories, and we hold their memories sacred:

Quanesha “Cocoa” Shantel, 25, Greensboro, NC — shot. Known as a radiant, joyful Black trans woman and drag queen who had recently enrolled in nursing school.

San Coleman, 48, Atlanta, GA — shot.

Honee Daniels, 37, Rochester, NY — shot.

Kassim Omar, 29, Columbus, OH — shot.

Redd (“Barbie”), 25, Chicago, IL — shot. Loved ones remembered her as full of life, with a presence that lit up any room.

Tai’Vion “Tai” Lathan, 24, Baltimore, MD — shot. Remembered for her warmth, humor, and that she “loved everybody.”

Vanity Williams (Chanel Williams), 34, Houston, TX — shot. A community-builder, she created safe spaces and spoke truth to power.

Dylan Gurley, 20, Denton, TX — died from “blunt and sharp force injuries with strangulation.” She was remembered as “the sweetest kid … those bright eyes and gorgeous smile will be remembered always.”

Monique Brooks (also known as Jade-Monique Thomas), 49, Orlando, FL — shot. A Black trans activist and hair stylist, remembered as “the life of the party,” fun-loving, brilliant, and generous.

Alex Franco, Taylorsville, UT — shot. He was “funny, a protector, … had a heart of gold,” and “loved and protected his siblings with every fiber in his soul.”

Meraxes Medina, Los Angeles, CA — shot. A Latina trans woman and makeup artist who loved shopping and watching Jurassic Park.

Kita Bee, Kansas City, MO — killed (reported). A Black trans woman, an "all-around entertainer" who loved to sing, dance, perform, and bring joy to others.

Jazlynn Johnson, 18, Las Vegas, NV — shot. A bright student with hopes for cosmetology school; her family said she was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend.

We stand as a Phoenix of pink, blue, and white — rising from the ashes of ignorance, hate, and fear, and transforming them into unity, love, and power.
