Akron Public Schools is located in Akron, Ohio, in the northeastern part of the state, less than 40 miles south of Cleveland and 20 miles north of Canton. The district includes nine high schools, 11 middle schools and 33 elementary schools. It is the fifth largest district in Ohio with approximately 21,000 students enrolled.

Give your child a strong start with Akron Public Schools. Families can register for Preschool and Kindergarten on June 17 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at the Akron Board of Education. Staff will be onsite to help guide families through the registration process.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

As we close another successful school year, we celebrate the accomplishments of our graduating seniors. Through hard work and determination, these students reached an important milestone and are ready for opportunities ahead.

Whether their next step is college, the military, a career, entrepreneurship, or another path, we are proud of all they have achieved and excited to see the impact they will make in the future. Congratulations, graduates!

Congratulations to STEM High School graduate and Firestone CLC Volleyball Player Elijah! He has been named the Division II Boys Volleyball Player of the Year in Ohio and earned First Team All-Ohio honors after being recognized as the Division II Region Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. Earlier this month, he was also recognized as the Akron Beacon Journal's Akron Area Athlete of the Week. Off the court, Elijah graduated from STEM High School as a valedictorian with a 4.130 GPA. We are proud to celebrate this incredible student-athlete and all he has accomplished!
