A new chapter for an iconic Akron tradition! Congratulations to Angelica George VM04 on the opening of Tangier West and Isabella’s Restaurant. The new location brings the longtime Tangier name to the Fairlawn area, while Isabella’s Restaurant pays tribute to Angelica’s grandmother. We’re excited to see this next step for the George family and their Akron legacy. Make sure to stop in and check out their new spot!

Tangier West and Isabella’s are set to open Aug. 25 in Fairlawn.

Alumni who participated in Kairos during their time at STVM are invited to join us at the 3rd Annual Kairos Reunion on Thursday, July 2 at St. Francis de Sales Parish for an evening of faith, fellowship, and reconnection.

Mass begins at 6:30 PM, followed by a reunion at 7:00 PM in the Memorare Center. Pizza, chicken, and drinks will be provided, and guests are welcome to bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Mike continues to build an incredible career as a Los Angeles based musician and performer. We are proud to see him continuing to make his mark in the music industry and excited to watch him take the stage tonight. ☘️

We are proud to share that Adam Testa VM03 was selected for Class ### of the Child &Family Leadership Exchange Program and chosen to serve as president of the class. The program brings together Summit County professionals dedicated to strengthening services for children and families through collaboration and leadership development. Adam’s 18 years of service with Summit County Juvenile Court and his commitment to the community continue to make a meaningful impact. Your STVM family is proud to celebrate this outstanding accomplishment. ☘️

Please join us in praying for the Bernard family as they honor the life of Ralph L. Bernard Jr. We are especially keeping his children, Angela Bernard Craig VM92 and Adam Bernard VM88, along with his sister, Regina Bernard Dain V65, in our thoughts during this difficult time.

The Bernard family’s generosity and support of Catholic education have made a lasting impact on the STVM community and generations of students. We are grateful for Ralph L. Bernard Jr.’s life of faith, service, and quiet generosity.

The STVM Irish community is holding the Bernard family in our prayers as they lay to rest their patriarch, Ralph L. Bernard Jr., a man whose quiet generosity and steadfast commitment to Catholic education shaped the lives of countless young people across our city.

The Bernard family’s legacy of giving has touched St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in profound ways. Through the Ralph L. & Florence A. Bernard Foundation, Ralph continued the work begun by his parents; supporting students through tuition assistance and opening doors to opportunity. Their impact extends across Akron’s Catholic schools, reflecting a deep and enduring belief in faith‑based education.

We are grateful for the Bernard family’s decades of support and for the many students whose lives have been changed because of their generosity.

May the road rise to meet him,
May the wind be always at his back.
May the sun shine warm upon his face,
And rains fall soft upon his fields.
