Tuesday, January 20, 2026, will be a remote learning and remote workday for the main campus and Wayne campus due to extreme cold. Campus offices will be open remotely, and limited services will be available on campus.

The University of Akron main campus and Wayne campus are closed today due to weather and road conditions in the region. Essential personnel should report to work at their regularly scheduled time. Employees who are unsure whether they are essential personnel should contact their supervisor. Both campuses will re-open tonight at 11:00 PM.

Not only is Geena an Oscar and Golden-Globe winning actor, but a world-class athlete, a member of Mensa, and the author of the memoir, "Dying of Politeness."
