📚New School-Wide Reading Homework This Year at Forest Hill CLC📚

✅every student K-5 will have a monthly Reading Log
✅for every 20 minutes of Reading time your child(ren) can color in a book and have a grownup sign/initial it
✅Reading Log will be kept in the “Take Home” folder
✅use books from the school library, picture books, chapter books, the Akron Public library or passages that may be sent home
✅enjoy time together reading
✅have your child(ren) show Reading Log to their teacher at the end of each month

Please read the following important announcements📞

First Day:
💙The first day of school for students in grades 1-5 is on Thursday August 27th.
💛The first day of school for students in kindergarten is on Monday August 31st.

DROP OFF:
💙All Students enter the building via playground door #7 for breakfast at 7:50 am.
💛Parents are responsible for their children before 7:50.
💙Parents must park near the curb of the school and drop off students.
💛Students are NOT to cross the street.
💙Students not having breakfast enter at 8:15.
💛Door #7 will be closed at 8:30am.
💙All students entering after 8:30 am are considered tardy.

DISMISSAL:
💛Students are not allowed to be signed out after 2:00.
💙Students in kindergarten and first grade are dismissed at 2:30 pm via door number 1.
💛Please wait across the driveway for your child's class to exit the building.
💙Students in grades 2-5 are dismissed at 2:30 via door number 7.
💛All parents are required to park vehicles and get their children.
💙Parking is limited and you should park on the street and walk to get your child.
💛Please do NOT block driveways.

✅We want to remind you about Akron Public Schools Event Safety Procedures.
✅ONLY CLEAR BAGS no larger than 3.3” x 8.3" x 6.5" and diaper bags for those with young children are permitted.
✅Diaper bags are subject to inspection. ✅Backpacks, book bags, purses, and other non-transparent bags are NOT permitted.
✅The clear bag procedure is only for events.
✅Students CAN continue to bring book bags as normal to school.
✅All guest are subject to district security screening procedures, and all permitted bags are subject to inspection. ✅Please review the Safety Procedures on the Akron Public Schools website before attending an event.

📝OPEN HOUSE:
Please join us on Tuesday August 25th from 3-5 at our open house event. Come anytime on Tuesday August 25th from 3-5pm to meet teachers and drop off school supplies. Please check your email for information regarding your child's teacher and classroom.

🕑FIRST DAY:
The first day of school for students in grades 1-5 is on Thursday August 27th. The first day of school for students in kindergarten is on Monday August 31st.

🚫NO SCHOOL:
There is no school for any students on Monday September 7th due to Labor day.
