[06/04/20]   The Ainsworth Community Schools Board of Education has been engaged with the Nebraska Association of School Boards in a review and revision of board policies. The new manual is available on the district website via a shared link. The shared link contains the table of contents for the new manual in addition to organized folders of the manual's specific sections. The board is conducting 1st and 2nd readings of the policy manual at the June and July regular board meetings respectively. After the 2nd reading at the July 13th meeting, the new policy manual will be in effect. Anyone who has questions, comments, or concerns related to the board policy manual should contact the office of the Superintendent. Thank you!

Awards for Art Students of the Year for 2020 were awarded to Raven Stewart and Ty Conroy. Both Raven and Ty have been in art during all four years of High School and 2 years of Middle School. Raven has mostly focused on drawing and painting, and Ty has focused on clay work. They have both won numerous awards during the past, and this year would have been no exception if we would have been able to attend the local Art shows. - Mrs. Adcock

[05/29/20]   K-6 Parents/Guardians:

Under the new guidelines beginning June 1st, we are able to have face-to-face summer school, which is excellent news! We have made calls to some parents/guardians about students we would like to attend summer school, but are not full yet with our lists. If you would like your child(ren) to attend summer school, please EMAIL Mr. Childers @ [email protected]. Slots will remain open until we reach our maximum number of 10 per grade level. Please only sign up if you are committing to come each day.

Summer school will run from June 8th until July 2nd (Monday through Thursday each week) for Kindergarten through Sixth grade students. Start time is 9:00am each day and students may be picked up at 11:30am.

If you sign up, you will receive an informational letter specifying the exact details.

Mr. Childers

These are the weight lifting groups and times that we will use this summer. These times and groups have also been sent to your school email addresses. Please be checking your email throughout the weekend for a Google Classroom invite. The Google Classroom, along with Facebook, will be used to relay information to our student-athletes.

At home body weight workouts will be available for everyone in case you are out of town or unable to make it to your lifting session.

Please be on time or early to your session and remember the social distancing rules.

Sessions start this coming MONDAY, JUNE 1st!!! LETS GOOOOOOO!!!

[05/21/20]   On June 1st, we will be opening the weight room for our student-athletes to voluntarily participate in our summer strength and conditioning program. We will be following the guidelines that were set forth by the NSAA to keep our student-athletes and staff as safe as we possibly can. At this time we need information from our incoming 6th-12th grade student-athletes to help create groups. Once these groups are created they will be used for the summer until further notice. Once you are in a group or time slot you will not be permitted to change groups or times. Please indicate multiple times that will work for you. Our high school student-athletes will get preference over our middle school student-athletes when assigning groups.

[05/12/20]   Senior Parents, as the seniors check out today they will receive their cap, gown, tassel and stole. Please make sure these are put in a safe place for July. It would be helpful to take the robe out and make sure it "fits" which basically means it is not dragging on the ground or up above their knees. If there is a problem contact Mrs. Welch right away. Congratulations Seniors!
Premiering tonight at 7:00.

Congratulations Seniors!!

[05/11/20]   All library books need to be returned to the school. Books can be dropped off on Monday during lunch pick up from 11:00-11:45. This will give Mrs. Welch a chance to see who still has items checked out before the last packet pickup on Wednesday. All 5th -12th grade students have been notified by email of items they have checked out. All kindergarten-4th grade students were given postcards in their last packet. Please contact Mrs. Welch if you have questions about what your child may have checked out.

Here is an update on the middle school Bulldog Battle. (Those Los Sabios teachers may know how to raise plants!) 😉

Final K-4 instruction packets (with report cards) will be sent home Wednesday, May 13th.

Meals are tentatively scheduled through July, but tied to summer school, so the food program could end after June if we are able to have summer school in June.
