In 2006, Mrs. Debra Gay’s 4th grade students filled a time capsule box to be opened in the year 2026.
Yesterday, Mrs. Gay returned to the school and revealed the items her students placed in the time capsule back in 2006 to the current 4th grade students. Mrs. Gay shared that she decided to create the capsule because 2006 was the first year in the new elementary school building.
Among the items in the box were several photos of the students. One of the photos included our 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Karly Horne, so we stopped by for Mrs. Gay and Mrs. Horne to take a picture together with the time capsule.
Mrs. Gay had also reached out to the teachers to encourage students to bring new items to place in the time capsule. Several students brought new treasures and memories to add for future generations to enjoy.
