🌟 Meet IEL Rider Sloane Slie! 🌟
Slaone is 11 years old and in 5th grade, but she’s already making her mark in the eventing world! 🐎
She started riding at just 4 years old on a pony named Lexi—who, according to Sloane, bucked her off quite a bit! But those early lessons helped shape the determined rider she is today. By age 6 she was already competing, and she has since worked her way up to the Novice level.
Sloane is a fourth-generation horsewoman. Her great grandfather was the founder and president of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), now known as the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH), and brought therapeutic riding to America as well as many other countries in the 1970s. Her great-grandmother was a USDF dressage gold medalist who passed down her knowledge to Sloane’s grandmother and mother. Today, Sloane continues the family tradition, learning the art of horsemanship from both her mother and grandmother at Radway Eventing in Aiken, South Carolina.
On a lucky day, Sloane rides five or six horses—including two ponies, FGF Butterscotch Sundae and FGF Tipsy Turvy, owned by Laura Anderson of Full Gallop Farm.
Last year, she competed at the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) Championship for the first time, where her team brought home the win in the coveted Hobby Horse competition! 🏆
🎯 Her goals for 2026:
• Return to the IEL Championship with the Radway Eventing IEL Team
• Compete at the United States Pony Club Championships
We can’t wait to see what Sloane accomplishes next!
