Originally named Center Elementary, the school was renamed to J.D. Lever Elementary in 1975 to honor Jesse Daniel Lever who served as principal of the school for thirty-three years. Our purpose is to build the foundation for our students to reach their full potential and succeed as life-long learners. Our faculty and staff seek to build and strengthen relationships with students, families, and the
community to support the academic, social, and physical development of each child in a safe and nurturing environment. We are a Positive Behavioral Intervention & Supports (PBIS) pilot school in Aiken County. This system was implemented to recognize and reward students for displaying positive behavior and good character traits. To engage our students, teachers integrate different academic areas across the curriculum and help our students relate their learning to real life experiences. We strive to provide an excellent education for all of our students and attribute our success to working cooperatively with students, parents, and the community.
