We blinked, and suddenly we'd finished week two of school - where has the time gone??

We've had an incredible time getting to know our students and exploring our classrooms, and we know things can only get better from here! We can't wait to see you all again next week and learn something new!

Don't forget - Meet the Teacher is TODAY!

There are a few times throughout the day where you can come and learn about the school, receive the Parent Handbook, and meet your child's teacher. We can't wait to see you!

We can't believe it's already time for Meet the Teacher - but here we are!

Join us this week on Thursday, August 6th to learn about details like car line and early pickup; explore your child's classroom; and meet their teacher for the upcoming year! More information should have been shared to registered families directly.

This week marks the end of Secret Santa of SAPC’s Christmas in July season. We are so thankful to all of you who have already signed up to volunteer, committed to sponsoring a child, or donated directly to our cause. Secret Santa of SAPC is one of our most impactful missions within our local community, and we truly could not do it without your generous support throughout the year.

If you or someone you know is able to volunteer, sponsor, or donate, please direct them to southaiken.org/secret-santa - just because our Christmas in July month is over doesn’t mean we’re going to stop calling for support!

And please, if you know of someone that may be in need of a little extra help this holiday season, encourage them to make note of our Application Days. We are so thankful to be blessed to help as many families as we can each year, and we want to be sure that those in need are able to receive support.

This coming Sunday, join SAPC for the Blessing of the Backpacks! We will take a moment during the Children's Moment to say a special prayer and blessing for all teachers, faculty, staff, and students returning to a new school year. All are welcome to join!

It’s time for Christmas in July!

We love this annual drive, which brings Secret Santa of SAPC to the forefront and helps this mission hit the ground running. This is a long-standing mission of our church, established in 1987, that works to provide Christmas gifts to children in our county that would not receive gifts otherwise. It is entirely run by volunteers and donations from the community.

Each week on our South Aiken Pres page, we’ll share something about Secret Santa - our coordination with community programs, opportunities to volunteer or sponsor, and our calendar of events for this upcoming season. We ask that you consider your ability to support this program throughout the month, to help us better prepare for the official season!

For now, mark your calendars for our major dates and spread the word - our application days are October 17th and 24th this year, and Distribution Day will be on December 12th! If you know of a family that may be in need of extra support this year, please share this with them so that they can know when to apply. And if you or someone you know is able to help support this wonderful mission, please keep an eye out here on our social media throughout the month for the best ways to keep this organization running!

We want to take a moment to formally introduce our new SAPK Director - Dawn Thurston!

Dawn has extensive experience in preschool, including a Masters in Early Education. After 15 years of teaching preschool, she moved into Assistant Director and Director positions in her career. Now that she and her husband have moved to Aiken, she has joined our team! We're so excited to get to know her better, and to grow as a school with her support.
