Today, NC FBLA hosted their Eastern Regional Fall Leadership Conferences and Competitions at JH Rose High School. We had a chance to take a new member to explore the conference setting to bring back valuable information and network with other members across the region. Next stop; States!

Good morning! Our chapter is back and ready to go for the 2022/2023 school year! We have a few more members this year who are excited to become leaders in their school and community. As we began our journey, we are asking for community help in our first fundraiser starting Monday, October 3, 2022! We are preparing for our regional comletition and leadership conference in Greenville in December and our state competition and leadership conference in Greensboro in March. We are also looking for community help with preparing our students: resume writing, interview skills, public speaking, proper dress and all this Leaders need! If you are interested in assisting please contact Advisor Shamika Archer at [email protected]!

On Wednesday, February 12, SECU hosted their Reality of Money event. Students were able to be given the lives of a 25 year old and learned about credit, balancing their budget and taking care of a house hold. Even members of our administration did a walk through of the simulation. Our principal, Mr. Cooley, quickly learned that at Lee's Dealership no bikes were available on the lot but we would get you going in any other vehicle 😂 A special thank you to all our community volunteers who helped out and SECU for bringing this to our students

FBLA week kicked off with a mini seminar hosted by FBLA featuring HCPS Dr. Shamica Long-Lane speaking to our students about what employers are looking for, interview skills, and much more! We thank you Dr. Long-Lane for speaking to our students!
