Excellent work GCFR & GCPD! Early access to effective CPR has given two families more time with their loved ones. We are proud of all of you!

Monday was an eventful day in Zone 2 on the south end of Saint Simons Island. Cardiac saves are not all that common in EMS, but the crews of Squad 4, Squad 2, and Engine 2 had two yesterday.

When the second cardiac arrest was dispatched, Officer Leska was nearby and noticed the call on his computer. He responded to assist and was first on scene to the pulseless and apneic patient. Officer Leska performed CPR until Squad 2 and Engine 2 arrived. Without Officer Leska’s quick action, there would very likely have been a different outcome.

Great work by Squad 4, Squad 2, Engine 2, and Officer Leska.

I was honored to speak to the Rotary Club last week on the importance of CPR.
