🚀 What a tremendous first day at Sumac L-STEM Elementary! Our Voyagers filled the campus with smiles, excitement, and a joyful energy for learning. We loved seeing students reconnect with friends, meet their teachers, and begin the next chapter of their Sumac story.

Calling all new Voyagers! We are excited to welcome our newest Sumac families to Sumac 101, an orientation designed to help you feel informed, connected, and ready for a fantastic school year.

Join us to learn about our school programs, daily routines, communication tools, volunteer opportunities, and what makes our Sumac community such a special place to learn and grow.

🎓💙 From Voyagers to Chargers... and Beyond! 💛🎓
A few weeks ago, we had the joy of welcoming back some very special visitors as our graduating Agoura High School seniors returned to Sumac for their Senior Walkthrough. Watching them walk the halls where their educational journeys began was a powerful reminder that once you're a Voyager, you're always part of the Sumac family.

It was an honor to celebrate these incredible graduates and see how far they've come. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and can't wait to see the amazing things they'll do next.

As you enjoy a well-earned summer and prepare for your next adventure—whether it's college, career, military service, or another exciting path—know that you'll always have a home at Sumac.

📚✏️ School Supplies? Consider Them Covered! 🎒✨
Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of our Sumac PFA, all classroom school supplies for the 2026–2027 school year will be provided for every Sumac student!

That means:
✅ No supply list shopping trips
✅ No last-minute searches for glue sticks or notebooks
✅ Students will have the materials they need waiting for them when they arrive in August

This investment helps ensure every Voyager starts the school year ready to learn, create, explore, and succeed from day one.

A huge thank you to our PFA and the families whose support makes opportunities like this possible. Together, we continue to remove barriers, support our teachers, and set our students up for success.

🥎☀️ What a way to kick off summer! ☀️🥎

One of our favorite Sumac traditions returned last week as our 5th graders took on the staff in the annual Kickball Classic!

After a hard-fought game filled with big kicks, great catches, plenty of laughs, and lots of school spirit, the students came away with the victory; handing the staff a tough loss. 😄🏆

More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our 5th graders, build memories together, and enjoy one last special moment as a school community before summer begins.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 on your well-earned win, and thank you to our staff for being such great sports. Here's to sunshine, friendship, and a summer full of adventure!

Just one week ago, we gathered beneath the trees to celebrate the incredible Class of 2026 as they crossed the stage and officially promoted from Sumac L-STEM Elementary.
It was a morning filled with smiles, proud families, heartfelt speeches, laughter, and a few happy tears as we reflected on the memories, friendships, and growth that have defined their elementary school journey.

To our newest middle school students: thank you for the joy, leadership, curiosity, and spirit you brought to Sumac. We are so proud of all you have accomplished and excited for the adventures that lie ahead.

Our Voyagers had an absolute blast enjoying games, activities, laughter, teamwork, and, of course, refreshing slushies! 😎🥤

A huge thank you to our amazing Student Council for organizing such a tremendous end-of-year celebration. Your leadership, enthusiasm, and hard work helped create a memorable day filled with fun and smiles for our entire school community.

🏛️✨ A Tour Into Living History! ✨🏛️
At the end of May, the students in Mrs. Birkett's and Mrs. Pike's classes brought history to life during their annual Wax Museum presentations! From influential leaders and inventors to artists, athletes, and changemakers, our 4th and 5th grade Voyagers transformed into historical figures and shared their stories with confidence, knowledge, and creativity.

Visitors had the opportunity to "activate" each exhibit and learn about the accomplishments, challenges, and lasting impact of these remarkable individuals. The event showcased not only students' research and presentation skills, but also their dedication, perseverance, and passion for learning.

We are so proud of our students for stepping into the shoes of historical figures and helping us take a memorable journey through history. Bravo to our young historians and to Mrs. Birkett and Mrs. Pike for creating such an engaging and meaningful learning experience! 💚🚀
