Welcoming Ms. Rodriguez!

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Rodriguez to the Sumac family as a second and third grade teacher! She brings experience from the middle school level, along with a strong background in language arts and the humanities. Most importantly, Ms. Rodriguez is returning to Sumac! 🧱✨ LEGO Club is officially underway at Sumac! ✨🧱
Our 2nd and 3rd grade Voyagers had their very first LEGO Club meeting, putting their creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills to work! We loved seeing students build, imagine, experiment, and, of course, have a whole lot of fun together. 💚💛

🔙🔢 to Family Math Night at Sumac!
Throwing it back last week when we had a fantastic evening of learning, playing, and doing math together! 💚💛 Our Voyagers and their families jumped into hands-on activities, explored the math learning happening in our classrooms, and created take-home math kits to keep the fun going at home. 🧠✨

We loved seeing our families thinking, talking, problem-solving, and discovering together. Because math isn’t just something we do at school --> math is everywhere! ➕✖️➗

🎤🗳️ The speeches are done, and voting begins TODAY!
We are so proud of every one of our Sumac Student Council candidates who stepped up to lead, shared their ideas, and delivered some truly impressive speeches this morning! 💚💛 Their confidence, preparation, and Voyager spirit were on full display. 🚀👏🏼

Now it’s time for our Voyagers to cast their votes! The winners of our 2026–27 Sumac Student Council Executive Board will be announced at our Friday Assembly this week! 🎉

No matter the outcome, we are incredibly proud of every student who took the risk to run, speak in front of their peers, and make their voice heard. That’s leadership! 🌟

👏🏼 Great teaching and learning happening at Sumac!
Shoutout to Mrs. Krock, Mrs. Bettiga, and Ms. Rodriguez for creating engaging, hands-on learning during today’s California Mathematics math block! 🧮✨ Our Voyagers were using manipulatives to explore mathematical concepts, make their thinking visible, and build deeper understanding through active problem-solving.

We love seeing students thinking, talking, reasoning, and DOING math! 💚💛🚀
