✂️ ROTARY CUTTING TIP OF THE DAY! ✂️

Today I’m bringing you TWO little handy tips that can make a big difference when you’re cutting fabric! 🧵

TIP #1 — Stop cutting on the same lines!

Let’s say you need to cut a half yard of fabric. Instead of lining everything up and cutting directly on that same half-yard line on your cutting mat every single time, move your fabric away from the yardage lines.

Cut straight on, at an angle, sideways—whatever is comfortable for you! The important thing is to vary where you’re cutting on your mat.

Constantly cutting along those same lines creates wear in the exact same spots. Moving things around will help your cutting mat last MUCH longer. 🙌

TIP #2 — If you’re pushing, CHANGE YOUR BLADE!

If you have to put pressure on your rotary cutter to get through your fabric, your blade is too dull. Period. 😂

Change that blade!

You should NOT have to muscle your way through good-quality quilting cotton. A sharp rotary blade should glide through that fabric like butter. 🧈✂️

And please don’t keep using a dull blade because you’re trying to squeeze another week out of it.

✨ You’re worth a new blade! ✨

Save your hands, save your fabric, save your mat—and make cutting enjoyable!

🌸 Andover Fabrics — A gorgeous new 108" wide back is here, and it is absolutely beautiful! Perfect for finishing off that special quilt without piecing your backing.

🦊 Elizabeth Hartman Bundles — They are FINALLY on the floor! 🎉 These bundles of Moda Solids are perfect for Elizabeth Hartman patterns. Her designs use lots of smaller pieces and fat quarters, so these coordinated bundles make picking your fabrics easy — and fun!

⭐ Ruby Star Society — The NEW fabric has arrived! If you love Ruby Star’s fun, modern prints and colors, you’ll definitely want to come see this one in person.

✨ Happy Wednesday, quilting friends! ✨

We have LOTS happening around the quilt shop today! 🧵💕

First up—we’re adding our very first line of BATIKS! 🎉 Boho Batiks by Jennifer Long for Riley Blake Designs has arrived, and ohhhh, these colors are luscious! 😍 Think gorgeous teals, purples, pinks, and corals all mixed together. I cannot wait for you to see them!

📦 And apparently it’s box day around here because I have SEVEN new boxes of inventory waiting for me. 😂

And YES—the new Art Gallery Fabrics PURE Solids are HERE! 🙌 They’re currently hanging out in the garage until my husband brings them in because this girl is absolutely NOT lifting those boxes. 😂 He can have that job!

I’m also working on more Elizabeth Hartman-inspired bundles using Moda solids. These have been so popular in the shop! If you already have one of her patterns—or have your eye on one—you can grab a coordinated bundle instead of buying an entire kit and potentially save yourself some money. We’re doing the color work and bundling them up for you! ✂️🧵

That’s about all I’ve got for today… although with seven boxes staring at me, I’m sure there’s plenty more coming. 😂

Today I bring you two beautiful new 108” wide backings from Andover Fabrics and Alison Glass—and boy, are they FUN! 😍

We’ve got bold prints, gorgeous colors, butterflies, florals, and all kinds of happy happening on these bolts. 🌈🦋🌺

And I’m thinking I may need some of this for myself… because I’m pretty sure one of these needs to become a BAG! 👜✂️ These are absolutely my colors, and you know I can’t resist a good bold print. 😂

Of course, they’ll make fabulous quilt backs too—but who says a 108” wide back has to stay on the back of a quilt?! 😉

🧵 A LITTLE SHOP UPDATE — EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY 🧵

This is not a post I ever wanted to have to make, but unfortunately, we’ve reached a point where it is necessary.

Effective immediately, Sew Enchanting Equine Quilt Shop will have a NO BAG POLICY inside the shop. Purses, totes, backpacks, shopping bags, and other personal bags will need to remain outside the shopping area.

Sadly, we have had too many items disappearing from the quilt shop without being purchased. As a small business, inventory loss affects us tremendously. Every bolt of fabric, pattern, notion, zipper, and little goodie on our shelves matters.

I hate having to make a policy that affects all of our wonderful, honest customers because of the actions of a few. But in order to protect our quilt shop, our inventory, and the shopping experience we work so hard to provide, this is something we have to do.

We truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation. ❤️

Thank you to the overwhelming majority of you who shop with us, support this little quilt shop, bring your friends, attend our retreats and classes, and continue to help us grow. We appreciate you more than you know.

✂️ And, of course, all the other good ta-tas that somehow keep finding their way into this quilt shop!

There is always something new around here, and apparently I have absolutely no intention of stopping. 😂

☕🧵 TODAY IS A GET-CAUGHT-UP-BEHIND-THE-SCENES KIND OF DAY! 🧵☕

I’ve been out here at the quilt shop since I finished my morning cup of coffee, and we are getting things DONE! 🙌

First up was Stephanie’s quilt on the longarm. She also had some bag pieces she wanted quilted, and since we knew we’d have a little extra room on her backing, I decided to squeeze them in.

And ladies… when I say SQUEEZE… 😂😳

It got TIGHT! It was like a little quilting miracle waiting to happen, trying to get every single piece to fit without running out of backing. But I made it work! 🎉 Everything fit, everything got quilted, and that job is officially checked off the list. ✔️

Now I’m tackling the mountain of inventory that has been patiently waiting for me. I’ve got new goodies, lots of new bag hardware, and a whole bunch of new patterns that need to be entered into the system. 👜✂️🧵

And THANK YOU to everyone who placed an online order over the holiday weekend! 📦💕 I had quite a few waiting for me, and every single order means so much to this little quilt shop. We truly appreciate each and every one of you who shops with us—whether you walk through our door or order from us online. ❤️

So that’s the rest of my day, ladies: inventory, inventory, and more inventory.

Although… I think we’ve officially reached the portion of the afternoon where the coffee gets replaced with a glass of w**e. 🍷😂

And the BEST part? My husband is handling the cooking AND the cleaning in the house today.

YAY ME! 🙌🍷🤣
