Morning Drop-Off Safety Update 🏫

Beginning Monday, August 31, Afton Elementary’s regular visitor check-in procedure will also apply during morning drop-off from 7:25–7:55 a.m.

Students will continue using their regular entrances as usual. Parents, guardians, and visitors who would like to go beyond the main office will need to check in at the office, have their driver’s license scanned through Raptor, and wear a visitor badge.

LCSD2 Transportation has a new app for bussing. We are encouraging parents and guardians to sign up for the EZ Arrival app before the school year begins. Early registration will help families become familiar with the app and allow us to provide a smoother start to the school year. This app is taking the place of the previous app, Bus Quest.

As this year's winning house in the house cup, the Black House of 🖤Altruismo🖤 was honored last night as their team animal, the snake, was projected on the Star. If you missed it last night, tonight will be another opportunity to see the snake in action. ALT-RUI-SMO!

🏆 HOUSE CUP CHAMPIONSHIP WINNER 🏆

After yesterday’s totally serious, completely fair, absolutely NOT rigged race competition… 😉😂

🖤 ALTRUISMO – THE BLACK HOUSE – has officially won the 2025 House Cup Championship! 🖤

Our students had an absolute blast watching the big race reveal, and we are so proud of the teamwork, leadership, kindness, and house spirit shown by ALL of our houses throughout the year!

🎉 Tomorrow afternoon, the Black House will celebrate with a special outdoor water slide party, followed by popcorn and a movie (Super Mario Bros.), and will officially receive the House Cup Trophy! 🏆💦

📢 Altruismo (Black House) Families:
Please have students bring a towel. Please also have them wear or bring clothes (not bathing suits, unless they cover what a normal t-shirt and shorts would cover) that can get wet and dry easily.

⚫ Schoolwide Spirit Day:
All students and staff are invited to wear BLACK on Wednesday to honor and celebrate Altruismo!

🍧 At the end of the day, every student in every house will join together for a special treat and celebration as we wrap up another amazing House Cup year at Afton Elementary!

Our First Grade Reading Celebration, Wyoming Reads, was truly our favorite day of the year so far! From exciting reading rotations to special treats, fun activities, everyone getting their own book, and unforgettable moments, this day was filled with joy, learning, and celebration.

A huge thank you to our incredible special “celebrity”community volunteers who generously gave their time to lead rotations and create such meaningful experiences for our students. You were the true stars of the day and helped make this celebration so special. Your support, energy, and dedication made a lasting impact on our young readers.

We were also deeply honored to pay tribute to the late Mrs. Bagley, whose love of reading continues to inspire, with a special award presented in her memory alongside her daughters. Watching our students celebrate their reading growth, confidence, and accomplishments, and hearing how much they loved every moment, was incredibly rewarding.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so magical for our students. We are so grateful for a community that celebrates reading right alongside us!
