Nobody will be admitted into the building before 6:30.
• Students are encouraged to play games with their friends, read, color pictures, work with legos/manipulative toys, play on the computer, do homework, and other fun activities. This is a time for the children to relax and ease into the school day.
• Breakfast is grab and go style and served at Cougar Care dismissal. Breakfast is free to all
students during the 2021-22 school year.
• Children are released to their classrooms at 8:40am. If your child is new at Mesnier, don’t worry—there will be lots of teachers to help them get to their classroom! AFTER CARE
• Students go directly to after care when they are released for the school day at 3:45 p.m. Once in our program, attendance is taken.
• If your child’s schedule changes for any reason, please let the school office know. It is advisable to send a note to the teacher so they are also aware. If a child does not show up, we call the office as soon as possible, to make sure they are where they need to be.
• Activities in after care may include homework, art, block building, coloring/crafts, reading, and dramatic play. We spend as much time outside as possible on nice days. We go outdoors daily (weather permitting).
• No toys from home should be brought to school. PLEASE NOTE: NO ELECTRONICS This includes: ipod/iphone/ipads, leapfrog tablets, leaptops, personal dvd players, mp3 players, handheld video game devices, and RC cars. Rainbow Looms, and Bey blades are also not permitted. RULES AND SAFETY
• All district discipline guidelines are enforced during our program hours. Please familiarize yourself with those guidelines.
• We have our own “write-up” forms for after school care. These are used to document serious offenses and the disciplinary consequences that follow. The Principal, Lead Facilitator, and the Parent each get a copy when a write-up is issued. (Please note when the Affton School District closes for a snow day, or releases early due to snow, our program is NOT in session. We close with the rest of the district on Snow Days. Please make sure you have other arrangements in place.) Program ends on the last day of school. Special days require extra payment and a reservation. Early Release is included in tuition. Field trips and activities may be scheduled for each Special Day. These will be announced about a month prior to the date. A reservation coupon will also be released at the same time. Reservations must be made for Special Days—we do not accept walk-ins. WHO DO I ASK….?
