The founder of the Westwood Learning Center is the Vaughn Family of Davie County, NC. The school came to be because of a family member who has autism and wasn’t a good fit with the public school system, she needed an online school that could be done while she attended ABA therapy. The waiting list was so long she was number 12 but by the grace of God we got accepted. We knew we were not alone. Not
every child does well in a classroom with 20 plus students, or they need a flexible schedule. Westwood Learning center will offer a small class size. A ratio of 1:10 teacher to student. We will focus on core classes while supporting a variety of electives. As a parent and grandparent, I know each child learns differently and that is why Westwood Learning center would be a good fit for someone who needs small class size, caring teachers and a safe, secure place to study. Westwood Learning Center will keep a line of communication open for parents and students. I have the best crew that wants to be there with creative ideas for each child’s needs. We will have certified teachers to meet students where they are and help them be successful in the coming school year and beyond. contact info: [email protected]

I graduated from Davie High School in 2007. I have worked as a sub-contractor in business/construction for the last 17 years. I'm a lateral entry for middle school/high school. I am also the Information Technology expert and also ESA+ certified tutor in the state of NC. I graduated from UNCG with a major in psychology and a minor in computer science. I've always found an amazement in how the human brain operates, and in turn, how a computer's “brain” works. I've always loved learning something new and telling others about it. I'm not married but I am a father to four fur babies. My main hobbies include building computers, reading, and woodworking. I am looking forward to the upcoming school year. Meagan Catral
