If you were there and took pictures, please feel free to post them in the comments, because a certain choir director forgot to take pictures 👀🤔🤷🏻♂️
To all veterans who have served, thank you for your service!
The choirs’ performance starts at 4:00. The middle school choirs sang the first verse and first chorus, the high school choirs sang the second verse and second chorus, and everyone sang the third verse and third chorus. 😊🎶🇺🇸

If you’ll be in high school this fall, then Monday next week, you can audition for the 2021-22 Acahawks! Prepare 30 seconds to 1 minute of a song that shows off your voice. You’ll also vocalize to the highest and lowest pitches you can comfortably sing, and sight-read 4 measures of music.

Our Senior Spotlight this week is Hunter N.!
Hunter has been in choir three of his four years during high school. He has been selected to All-District Choir and gone to state contest during his time in choir as well. After graduation, Hunter plans to get on a full time fire department as a fire fighter/EMT and further his education in the firefighting and EMS field.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the choir program!
This week's Senior Spotlights are: Jacob H. and Olivia S.
Jacob has been a member of Acahawks all four years in high school. He has been selected for multiple honor choirs and performed at state during his time in choir. After graduation, Jacob will be attending Northwest Missouri State University to major in Accounting. Jacob had the following to say about choir: "I've enjoyed how accepting it was, like no matter who came into choir they were accepted instantly. It was more of a family atmosphere rather than a school group or class. I've enjoyed how many doors choir has opened for me in school and in life and most of the people who made up choir. My classmates made choir the most fun it could've been."
Olivia was in choir for three years during high school. She plans to attend college after graduation to pursue a degree in Early Elementary Education. When asked what she has enjoyed about choir, she said, "I've enjoyed getting to know new people in my classes every year and watching the songs come together by concert time."
Please take a moment to thank these seniors for their dedication to the choir program!
Good morning, everyone! Just a reminder that if your student wants to audition for Acahawks, please have them submit their audition on the Google Form by tomorrow, April 17th, if possible! If they are confused about any part of the process, please have them email Mrs. Welhoff and we will get it figured out. I can't wait to hear all of the wonderful auditions! 🎶
This week's senior spotlights are Ragan H. and Tanna K.!
Ragan has been a part of Acahawks since her sophomore year of high school. When asked what her favorite part of choir was, she said, "learning about music and making it more a part of my life." After graduation, Ragan plans to attend Cottey College and start her bachelor's in Business Management and Administration. She will be part of their choir and art programs, as well as look for an apprenticeship in a tattoo shop!
Tanna has been a part of AHS Choir all four years. When asked what her favorite part of choir was, she said, "Probably everything. I enjoy every year and making new friends! I came close with a lot of people because of choir!" Tanna plans to work full time and possibly attend Longview Community College after graduation.
I have decided to do weekly Senior Spotlights to recognize the seniors in the choir program! The first two seniors this week are Joseph J. and Ashlyn F.
Joseph has been in choir all four years of high school. When asked what his favorite part of choir was, he replied, "Getting to meet new friends across Missouri and making a family bond with my choir friends." He plans to go into law enforcement after graduation.
Ashlyn has been a member of Acahawks all four years of high school. She has been to state contest a few times during those years as well. When asked what her favorite part about choir was, Ashlyn said, "Probably all of the fun activities we do like pie auction, etc." She plans to start online schooling for special education after graduation.
Thank you to both of these seniors for their dedication to the music program throughout the years!
