A message to our Seniors. Please share.
June 5, 2020
On Monday, June 8, 2020, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., seniors can pick up their cap and gown, certificates, cord, stole, graduation coin, yard sign, and Maple PRIDE flag.
Please observe the above traffic pattern when picking up your cap and gown.
1. Please enter the south parking lot via the student drop off. You will enter through the exit labeled Enter Here in yellow.
2. Follow the yellow arrow, which leads you to the gymnasium and pool entrance.
3. AHS staff will greet you upon arrival.
4. You will need to complete a short survey. We need information regarding your post-high school plans, your personal email, cell phone number, and address.
5. An AHS staff member will deliver your items to you. Please remain safely inside your car.
6. Please exit the south parking according to the traffic pattern labeled in blue.
7. If you are unable to pick up your cap and gown on Monday, June 8, you may pick up these items beginning Tuesday, June 9, and after from the main office. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. M - F.
We will be deactivating the link to the graduation Google calendar on Friday, June 5, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. If you need assistance scheduling your graduation date and time, please call the main office at 517-263-2181. Ms. Palmer or Ms. Burleigh is available to assist you.
You will receive a letter during the week of June 15 or June 22 with specific details outlining the graduation procedures at Maple Stadium. In the meantime, please note the following information:
• Saturday, June 27: AHS Graduation by Appointment 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
• Sunday, June 28: AHS Graduation by Appointment 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Please note that we are communicating information regarding graduation via email to your child, email to parents, text to parents, and a phone message to parents. Information is being posted to social media as well. Parents or guardians, if you have not received these alerts, please call the main office at 517-263-2181 to update your phone number and your email address.
Congratulations to Elena Chiem. Elena is the Valedictorian for the graduating class of 2020. Elena plans to attend the University of Toledo to study Pharmaceutical Science. While at AHS, Elena participated in orchestra, volunteered with the APS music programs, the YMCA, Mrs. Rudolph, and the Lenawee District Library.
Congratulations to Susan Tan. Susan is the Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2020. Susan plans to attend Eastern Michigan University to study Nursing. While at AHS, Susan participated in cross country, basketball, track and field, bowling, tennis, NHS, Maple Mentors, and volunteered at the Lenawee Historical Museum and Salvation Army.
We want to extend our congratulations to the entire graduating class of 2020. As you prepare for your future, we wish you continued success and happiness. While none of us expected how this school year ended, we are impressed with how well you adapted to this change personally, academically, and know that this moment in time will forever shape your future. Be kind to everyone, be present in the moment, go the extra mile, and tell your parents how much you love and appreciate their support.
Dear AHS Seniors & Parents,
Seniors can pick their graduation date and time per our meeting with senior leaders. Your senior can pick their graduation date and time using their school-issuedschool issued email. The Google Calendar invite will go live on Wednesday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. AHS seniors MUST use their school-issuedschool issued email to log into the Google Calendar. Students and parents will not be able to view the Google calendar via their personal email address and may experience problems selecting a graduation appointment time slot using their cell phone.
If you need to return books, instruments, and AHS equipment you may drop off your items M-F from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The main office foyer is set up for you to pick up your child’s locker items and drop off any school books, uniforms, and equipment.
Finally, we are in the process of unboxing caps and gowns. Seniors can pick up their cap and gown, certificates, Maple Pride flag, yard sign, graduation coin, cords, and stoles on Monday, June 8 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Any requests to pick up these items prior to June 8 will be denied due to the office making sure we have adequate time to inventory and organize all these items for seniors. For home delivery please call 517-266-4549, and leave a message with your name, phone number, address, and number of children in the household age 18 and under. This includes all children under 18 if they are an APS student or not. LCS and home school students too.

It's a great time to be a Maple.
What an absolutely jam-packed last few days it has been across Maple Country. Students were performing and competing in a multitude of disciplines showing not just the diversity of offerings available within APS but also their strength.
The Adrian High School Symphony Band earned a Superior rating of 1 at the District 8 Band Festival and qualified for states. The Springbrook combined 7/8 orchestra also received a Superior rating of 1, and additionally, the 8th-grade band also earned a 1 rating.
The AHS Balladiers took to the stage on Friday and Saturday night and gave those in attendance who are old enough, a sense of nostalgia, as they took a trip down memory lane performing smash hits from the '80s.
Student-athletes were busy as well. High school sophomore, Ramiro Guerrero Jr, placed 4th in the individual state wrestling meet at Ford Field. Then the Power Lifting team made a strong showing at the state meet with Gia Tracy placing 11th, Arianna Rodriguez 6th, Anthony Polley 6th, and senior Will Howard bringing home silver in 2nd place.
Congratulations to all of our students for showing their Maple Pride this past week. Have a great week, Maples!

Currently students and staff are participating in the Polar Plunge to help raise funds for Adrian High School’s Project Unify. Project Unify works to bring together students with and without disabilities by promoting inclusion and acceptance. Great job, AHS!
