Yesterday was a day to remember and honor our fallen heroes that made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Today, the best way for us to express our gratitude to these heroes is to live our lives with respect and integrity, never taking our freedom for granted.

Good Morning Prairie Elementary!!! ๐ŸŒž
Happy Friday! ๐Ÿ˜ There is no school on Monday, May 25, 2020 in honor of Memorial Day. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ

Memorial Day is a federal holiday, observed on the last Monday of May, honoring and mourning the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces.

Did you know?
The National Moment of Remembrance is an annual event, beginning in the year 2000, that asks Americans, wherever they are at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day, to pause for a duration of one minute to remember those who have died in military service to the United States of America.

Kelsey Martin will now lead us in The Pledge of Allegiance.
Keep sending in your pictures and we'll keep up the virtual celebrations with our school friends! We really want as many kids as possible to get in on the fun. Send us a picture of your student ANYTIME (yep, right now!) Use this link to upload your pictures --> https://forms.gle/hB9Rbw7ihNZVcdHo6

These are the upcoming deadlines, but donโ€™t wait until the last minute; you can send us your pictures anytime no matter what school your children attend. And if your school's celebration has passed, still send in your picture as we'll be updating as new pics come in.

Skate boarder Trevor Hide has incredible talent. He worked hard and was determined at an early age to be the very best skate boarder he could become. He shared some of his talents with Prairie students and staff Thursday and man did he get us excited!! He relates to our Prairie P.R.I.D.E and shared how being productive, respectful, showing integrity, being determined and excellence helped him cope with being bullied and struggling in school. He inspires all of us to do our best and we look forward to carrying his message with us all school yearโœŒ๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ

Today is our official PBIS kick off day! Did you know PBIS is not just for students? Itโ€™s for our staff too! We started out the day with breakfast burritos for our staff to show our appreciation for a great first week! Shout out to Mrs. Pifer for making them!

Math with Mrs. Vellanti! She first models and structures this lesson so that students can see how itโ€™s done. Next, students practice the new skill with guidance as they are learning with manilpulatives like dominos! The last part of our instructional model is for our students to work independently on the new skill.

Photos from Prairie Elementary School's post 08/31/2022

At the start of each year teachers review our PBIS lessons and one of them is to learn what our expectations are when you come into the office! Mrs Rivier introduced herself to Mr.VanEttens classroom this morning. You should know she is fun to be around she helps our students feel good and happy and makes everyone laugh! We are so lucky to have her here in our officeโœŒ๐Ÿฝโค๏ธ
